Tuesday brain dump.

1.       We found out the sexes of the babes yesterday.  We are waiting to do a mini “reveal” at Collins’ second birthday party (she’s not old enough to feel like the attention is being taken away).  No less than 8 of my friends have called or texted promising that they can keep a secret, ha!  I was a NERVOUS wreck, I know, I know…that’s totally ridiculous. God decided the sexes of these babies a long time ago and there was NOTHING I could do about it, but STILL.  I didn’t sleepSunday night.  As much as I love being able to find out early-ish….I’m 16 weeks today/tomorrow I am still a nervous wreck until we go back for our 20 week ultrasound and they REALLY check the babes out.

2.       It’s snowing here, again.  WHAT the WHAT?!?  No one is nearly as excited this time.  Because duh, we are ready for spring.

3.       Birthday party planning is in FULL SWING.  We are having her party this Sunday at the house.  Nothing outrageous, but I still LOVE planning and party prep.   I simply cannot believe my baby is going to be TWO.

4.       I HATE buying maternity clothes.  UGH.  I haven’t yet, but I know I’m going to have to.  All of my hardcore maternity clothes from Collins are sweaters/pants.  Well, this go round I’ll be HUGE in April/May/June/hopefully not too much of JulyJ  So… what does that mean?  I’ll have to buy spring/summer maternity!  UGH!  I plan to go to Old Navy/Loft/Gap and stock up on dresses.  Comfy and lightweight for our hot summers.  I may have to dress a tad more casual at the office this summer, oh well.

5.       We are in the middle of a garage renovation.  When we had a big freeze a month or so ago a pipe busted in our garage.  The ceiling fell through.  Fun times.  We are using this opportunity to epoxy/paint the garage floor and walls.  Mikey’s thrilled about it……..BUT it will look SO much better and maybe make us keep the garage NEAT and ORGANIZED.

6.       There are SO many shows on TV that we just can’t watch them all.  We are obsessed with: Scandal, The Blacklist, Nashville, I watch Grey’s and Parenthood.  But, I finally got Downton Seasons 1 and 2 and knocked them out in no time at all.  Season 3 is awaiting my pick up at the library and I have season 4 saved on the TV at home.  I wish I had time to watch more shows, but I am glad I started that one.  We also rented the Butler Saturday night and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I love movies that are little history lessons as well.

7.       We now have both cribs set up on the nursery and are working on getting all of the old furniture out of there.  I’m pretty sure I know the set up I will go with, now to pick colors, fabrics, etc.  LOVE designing a room!!!  It’s more than a little surreal to walk in there and see TWO cribs though.  When will that ever sink in?

8.       I’ve had a head cold off and on for the past two weeks, I just can’t shake it. I’ll feel GREAT for a couple of days and then BAM, feel bad again.  UGH.  So over it.

9.       I need some new books to read.  Nothing has grabbed my attention lately.

10.   Lastly, we had ANOTHER low key weekend at home.  We worked on the garage, I deep cleaned the upstairs and we attended Collins’ bestie’s birthday party.

  2. I just started watching Downton Abbey with my sister, but we are still on Season 1. And I don't know what kind of books you like the read, but a few that I have enjoyed recently are; Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman (fiction) and The Heroine's Bookshelf by Erin Blakemore (non-fiction.)

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
