Catching up: trick or treat

Forgot to post the few pictures I took on Halloween night and our trick or treat festivities. We had a blast taking the kids thru the neighborhood and they definitely stocked up!  My brother's family came over and or new neighbors whose little boy goes to daycare with Collins came to trick or treat so Collins was in heaven!! We skipped out on dressing the boys up and a lolly kept the warm at home:-) Miss Priss. Sweetness:-) It's safe to say Halloween was a success this year!

An intentional holiday season

I’m going to try and focus really hard on being intentional with my time this holiday season.  I have two days off this week and I want to ENJOY them and RELAX with my family.  I do not want to be GO, GO, GO as so often is my nature.  I want to soak it all in and relish every moment with my people who I love so much.  We all get way too caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and sometimes the best moments are those that happen when you least expect it and that’s what I’m counting on this Thanksgiving.    We are going to host Mikey’s dad, step mom, mom, brother and girlfriend Wednesday   night  at our house.  There’s no need for me to stress about anything…Mikey will be home all day Wednesday and can cook and clean the house….I want to come home from work and enjoy the night with the family.   Thursday morning , my best friend who lives in CALIFORNIA is going to come by for a little bit so we can meet each other’s babes and catch up, I cannot wait.  This will probably be done in our

Weekend wrap up

We had a great weekend on a super last minute mountain getaway with friends. We booked a little house near Brevard, NC and took off for the weekend with no agenda and no real plans!  The girls had a ball playing together.  We went on a mini adventure to Caesars head state park. Not sure why i do that to myself as it gives me such anxiety. But, the view is amazing. Our babies had matching jammies, because that's totally important;-) The adults played lots of games once the kiddos went to bed. Family fun:-) We didn't get tons of sleep with all five of us being in the same room... But it was worth it. It's so nice to escape and do nothing every once in a while.  Happy "eat alllllllll the carbs" week!

Weekend wrap up

We had a super fun Friday night! One of my besties had a birthday and her boyfriend planned her an amazing surprise dinner! Too much fun! Mags was clueless and it was perfect!  Thanks to family, Mikey and I enjoyed a night out with friends.  We had NO plans at all Saturday.  We had a fire going and watched football all day. It was great, but I will say there's a reason we are on the go a lot! By 8 that night Mikey and i were bored!  My sweet girl is all about wearing a "bootyful" dress every day.  My sweet boys snoozing while we watched football.  I had plans to go to church and get a bunch done Sunday ... Well Mikey had other plans. Ha. He came down with a bug:-( so we missed church and were lazy most of the day. I did cook a delicious pot roast (!!) (this is a big deal for me) and was the only one who ate it Sunday night....  We are so,so excited because our best friends are moving directly across the street!!! We watched Mary brooks while mama and daddy signed the cont

The Friday five (and the BEST shirt ever)

Happy Friday, friends!! 1. Y'all. Not even kidding when I say I think I have found the perfect shirt for fall/winter. This thing is LEGIT. It is soft, not too tight or loose AND long enough to wear with leggings!!! This is HUGE, people. I've bought three so far. I mean, seriously.... $15. Go get you one, NOW. Thank you, target. It's mossimo.  2. I also bought two of these blouses and I like them a lot too. They are also long enough to wear with leggings. Mossimo. Target. $22. Why not?! 3. We just booked a last minute trip to the mountains with friends next weekend and I cannot wait!!! I've been itching for a mountain trip, I hope the leaves haven't fallen yet. We are going to Brevard, Bc which has a super cute downtown. Should be a fun little getaway! The view from the porch at the house we got!  4. We have no plans tomorrow and I am so excited! I want to light a fire and drink hot chocolate and do s'mores and stay in our pajamas for the whole day! 5. As a littl

Phase one bathroom renovation

As I mentioned way back when... We lost a bathroom when we moved to our current house. We were at 3.5 baths and now are at 2.5. Pretty crazy considering we gained TWO kids. Ha! But, if you read my novel (http://ohhhsweetcaroline.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-new-casa.html?m=0).  on our reasons for moving/picking this house... You know why. Which is why we are also thinking of adding a bath at some point, but for now we are working with what we have.  Which is... A very small full bathroom upstairs. Not that we will be here when the kids are big, but three kids sharing this space?! You can quickly see why a third bath may be a good investment.  Anyways, for now.... We just did a few inexpensive upgrades to this bath and I used stuff I already had for the accessories/shower curtain etc.  Before photos:  Beautiful, right?! ;-) A can of paint and some new hardware went a long way in making this bathroom more presentable. We got new lighting, towel bars, and knobs for the cabinet.  Eventually we

Friends, fun and football

Just a little update about some other fun things we have been up to around the Glenn casa.  Most of my updates are about our family outings, but Mikey and I still (luckily) get to enjoy some couples only time and hang out with friends too!    Thanks to some amazing grandparents and one really, really expensive babysitting bill (yikes) we were able to enjoy THREE Carolina football games this year (I say enjoy…and we sure did…although my cocks are pretty lame-o this year, oh well….).  We had no expectations going into the season of how many games we would get to go to with TWIN newborns, so I think we were both pleasantly surprised to be able to go to three and have a good time with friends (and no babies!)  Mama and daddy need some adult time every once in a while ;-)   Mikey and I also had a fun date night one night….had drinks at the rooftop bar downtown and then an excellent dinner at Cola’s.  Of course, we had to go somewhere we could watch the gamecocks, but it was still a fun nigh

The Glenn twins: month 4 and a BIG milestone

Another month upon us, the boys turned 4 months old on November 1…and the biggest milestone that occurred, you BOTH are now sleeping in your CRIBS in your room. This was a BIG deal for mama.  BIG.  This has been a great month and your daddy and I absolutely LOVE watching you boys grow.  (Well, of course I hate how quickly time goes by…but the smiles and giggles and coos we get now make it all okay!)   Your routines have stayed consistent lately…and it makes me so proud.  After we put big sister to bed, daddy and I get in some good quality time with y’all…sometimes y’all are kinda fussy for a bit around this time at night, but sometimes y’all are all smiles and it melts our hearts.  The fussiness doesn’t ever last long and if we hold you, everything is okay again.  We generally start bath time around  8:45 /9… neither one of you enjoy your bath much.  After bath, I nurse y’all…this happens between 9 and 9:30 , depending on how our night has gone.  Y’all are both still fantastic with nur

Catching up: BOO at the ZOO

This is our third year of going to boo at the zoo with friends and we love it each time. It's such a fun family night... And of course this year the girls really got into the actual trick or treating part. Our zoo is the bomb .... This event is definitely one of our favorites! Ready to start! .... The dance party  I mean, I seriously just can't with this picture. Love it.  So many fun memories created this month:-)

Catching up: the pumpkin patch

Of course, in October it would be illegal if we didn't visit the pumpkin patch. So along with every other family around, we had to go as well:-) We used to have a favorite farm we always went to but they closed so we have gone to different ones the past few years, but I think we found a keeper this time! We went to sease farms in Lexington sc and it was great!! Hay rides, corn mazes, a pumpkin patch, a sunflower field and games and playgrounds for the kiddos! What more can you ask for!?  I think it'll be really fun next year when the boys are walking around! We went the Saturday morning before we headed to charlotte for the nascar experience so we didn't have a ton of time but with two infants it was plenty!  This is definitely a fun family tradition I hope to keep up for many, many years!
