To my baby girl.

My baby girl.

How does it happen?  How do two years FLY by in the blink of an eye?  As I write this, I’ve known for about a week now that you will now always be my NUMBER ONE GIRL.  You will always be mama’s angel as soon you will be joined by two little brothers.  That in itself brings so many emotions to my mind, but number one being that it’s you and me for life, little C.  I hope and pray every day that you and I have the kind of relationship that I have with your “olly”…it’s the best.  The best in the world.  You, my little colls are the absolute LIGHT of my life and I thank God for that every day.

Your personality and talking has EXPLODED over the past 6 weeks.  You pick up on SO much and talk non stop (we still can’t understand everything you say…but your vocabulary has quadrupled in the past month).  It’s so crazy.  You are still very shy and take a while to warm up to people, but once you do…you are FUN and LOVING and giggle for hours.  Case in point…it took ¾ of YOUR OWN birthday party before you warmed up, but after that you had a BALL.  I think it was all a little overwhelming for you, but you were so sweet.  You love to feed Milly now….daddy and I think we may have to move her food for fear you’ll overfeed her, haha!!  You open up all doors now and love to close them, this is a game changer.  You always say “tank you mama, tank you daddy” after we give you something.  You still call your lovie your “sussie” …where that came from we will never know, but it’s pretty cute.  You still LOVE your sussie when you need a little soothing and at night and you still suck your thumb only when sussie is in hand.  You love your baby dolls and love to color on your easel.   You have almost mastered a tricycle, but your favorite part right now is the bell and pushing it around.  “Olly” (one day maybe you’ll switch to Lolly) is still your favorite person besides mama and daddy.

You are still my little short, chunky butt.   And I love it.  Your hair has gotten so long, we even put in sponge curlers for the very first time on your birthday party day….put them in before nap and they were all out when you woke up ( I swear every time I I looked at the monitor you were PASSED out so how did that happen??!).  You wear a mixture of 18/24 mo clothes and size 4 or 5 in shoes.  It feels as if you morphed from baby to little girl overnight and this mama does not like it.  We got a seat for the potty recently so you can start getting used to it, I don’t want to press it to early by any means but my life would be MUCH easier/cheaper if I have you potty trained by the time your brothers enter this world.  You always ask to go potty but have only actually “gone potty” on the toilet a handful of times.  You have never attempted to climb out of your crib, and I hope it stays that way.  Your crib converts to a double bed, but I’m leaving you in a crib as long as I can!  You sleep about 12 hours every night and nap anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours during the day.  You never hesitate to go down and it makes life so easy for usJ  Now let’s just hope your brothers are the same way….ha!

You have entered into an independent streak lately and it’s cute and frustrating all at the same time!  “no mama” are constants I hear b/c you want to do everything yourself.  Which is great, except for some stuff that I HAVE to help you with and you get mad.  Which is not so great!  I wish I could bottle up your little voice forever b/c hearing it makes my heart melt.  You still don’t really “get” timeout.  You don’t have to go a lot, but when you do, you giggle and start counting.  I try (and so does your daddy) to be SO stern but it really just doesn’t faze you.

My little colls bolls, I hope and pray you are a loving and caring big sister and that you love your little baby brothers.  Your world is going to get rocked when they enter it this summer, but you will ALWAYS be mama’s little girl and I hope you never feel left out or overlooked.  I love you so much it makes my heart hurt, you are the absolute best thing that ever happened to your daddy’s and my life.  We love to watch you grow and learn and love; we wish we could slow down time a bit, but we try and take full advantage of every walking second we have with you.  Happiest of birthdays to our angel baby, you are truly the light of our life.

xoxo

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
