Weekend rewind {catching up}

Since I had upload issues, I've gotten behind.  So, here I am playing catch up, not out of the norm.  I feel like October is always so crazy for us- our big state fair is in town, pumpkin patch trips, football games, so much to do!  Another non stop weekend, but so much fun. Pictures are out of order, but oh well.  Friday night (October 12th)we took our final sunset cruise of 2018 - they had already taken the lake down a good bit due to the hurricane flooding and are doing a huge draw down this winter, so we decided to go ahead and take our boat out.  We enjoyed EVERY last second of lake season this year and are so sad to see it go.  (I'll preach it till the cows come home- we are a SUMMER family!) Saturday morning we took the kids to a local event, Touch a Truck- it was so neat and they ALL loved it.  Every kind of tractor, firetruck, dump truck, etc.- so cool. Saturday night Mikey and I headed out with some friends to enjoy a tailgate and football game- we had LOTS of f

Weekend rewind

I wrote this post weeks ago and tried to get it to upload like 5 times before giving up- i blog from an app on my phone (i know, so professional over here...) and it kept messing up on me.  I never feel like nor remember to get on my computer once at home after work.... so it's just sat unfinished.  I was going to give up, but i'm not quite  ready to stop documenting our mundane every day life just yet.  So here we are. At the beginning of the month, Mikey headed out of town on a guys golf trip and the kiddos and I had plenty of fun to keep us busy!  I took off work early Friday and we headed to the zoo- a rare treat for this working mama, to enjoy the zoo during a weekday when the crowds aren't terrible!  We had a blast- and I basically felt like I was there with three teenagers- sniff sniff. We hung out with two other mamas and kiddos Friday night (whose husbands were on the same golf trip) and then Saturday we took the whole crew to Newberry's Oktoberfest, which

Birthday weekend

Welp, I finally joined the rest of my besties in entering my mid thirties- ugh. Am I thankful for being alive, healthy, and happy? YES! But, that doesn’t make growing older that much easier. I can just feel time flying by me and there’s nothing I can do to stop it- and I hate that. Do I feel 35? No! Not that i really know what that means- I 100% agree that age is just a number- but let’s face it- the older you get, the higher your chances of cancer, sickness. Etc- and that terrifies me.  Regardless, we had an amazing weekend celebrating my birthday and a whole lot of other fun.  My girl had two of her dance besties spend the night Friday- they had a bday party to go to. While they were at the party- Mikey and I took the boys out to dinner.  Saturday morning came bright and early as I had to get all the kiddos up and have the girls at a parade by 8:15. They danced in the okra strut parade this year- their first year to dance and not ride on a float- they loved it but were def hot and t
