all a lie....

EEEKKK! Well, I couldn't have everyone thinking I was a liar...literally five minutes after I wrote my blog post yesterday I received 4 free tickets to Martina McBride!! Although she is no Carrie Underwood I LOVE her music a lot as well! Her concert is Sunday night, we will be taking Mikey's mom and her fiance as her Mother's Day present! Saturday we are enjoying our first lake day of 2010, one of my most favorite places to be in the summer....ready to get that tan on!; Beautiful Lake Murray........ We really have quite the weekend planned....except for tonight. Tonight we are relaxing, a rare rare thing for us to do on a Friday night. We went out last night, so we just want to chill tonight. After our day on the lake we are going out to dinner at Pearlz , so excited! There has been a Pearlz in Charleston for a while, but this one just opened in Columbia. It is an amazing Oyster bar/seafood restaurant with fabulous oyster shooters!! We are going to celebrate one o

Throw Back Thursday and My FAV singer.

So...this weekend three country singers will be in COLUMBIA. I think it is kind of weird how they did that considering it is pretty much the same audience. Taylor Swift is Friday night, Carrie Underwood is Saturday and Martina McBride is Sunday. I AM NOT GOING TO ANY OF THEM=(. I really really wanted to go see Carried, I thought I was going to be out of town for a while...and then it just kind of snuck up on me and I didn't really have an extra 100 bucks to put towards that right now. I still can't believe I am missing my FAVORITE country singer ever when she is in Columbia, sigh. Maybe she will go to Charlotte or Greenville soon and I can catch her there. This weekend last year, drum-roll please.........WE WERE AT A WEDDING! Surprise! Seems there were a lot of those last year. Not complaining here though: free food, free booze, awesome band, night with friends...hell yes please. Mikey's best friend Mike got married here in Columbia. The reception was at the Lac

Girls weekends make my heart smile.

I spent this past weekend in Atlanta with two of my best friends. I am very fortunate and most of my closest friends live in Columbia. These two do not. We don't get to see each other all that much, so a trip was in order! We spent the weekend talking, shopping, drinking and laughing! We had so much fun and I can't wait to do it again soon. Although, I didn't have the funds saved up for any really fun shopping...I enjoy window shopping just as much. The Pottery Barn in ATL is like a little slice of heaven for me, I could have wandered around for hours. We ate at a place called Murphy's Saturday night, it was absolutely amazing. Yes, the three of us finished this thing off. It was quite possibly the most delicious dessert I have ever had. My girls and me and again...another view=) The next time I will see these two will be for a bachelorette weekend....things are gonna get crazy!

Acai Berry Cleanse Detoxification

Has anyone ever tried this stuff?? I really want to do a detox of some sort....it seems pretty gross. I feel like all I have been doing for the past month is eating and drinking. Well folks, the waist line agrees....enough already! I know of a all food detox plan but I was wondering if you are supposed to supplement with something like this?

Happy Heritage!

We attended the 2010 Verizon Wireless Heritage Golf Classic last weekend in Hilton Head Island, SC. It was by far one of the most fun weekends I have had in a while. There were 15 of us crammed into a bedroom condo, but the best and most important part was you could walk out our door and be on the course! The girls laid out in the sun all day Friday (I only need one full day of golf!) and then the partying began Friday night for sure. This is late night Saturday night on a rather large yacht, it's very nice to have friends who have friends.... All the boys on the boat Saturday night Harbor Town Our huge group Saturday during the tournament ( we added a few friends for Saturday) Gorgeous views of the ocean The girls Saturday before beginning the tournament Mikey and me The girls Friday night at the Quarter Deck in Harbor Town My Magster and me the boys right outside our condo overlooking the course What an amazing weekend it was with amazing friends. We hope to make this a trad

Throw Back Thursday x 2 and Target HATE

Yeah yeah, I know I went on and on about my love for Target yesterday, well no more! So the CV wedges that I thought I was getting...ummm stupid idiots at Target put the wrong size on hold for me. I literally called every store in S.C. and in Charlotte, N.C. ( i have a friend, an amazing one, who was going to pick them up for me) to try and find the wedges in my size. I wasn't even that picky, I would have taken a 6, 6.5 or a 7! I finally tracked some down in Charlotte and called three different times to make sure the correct shoes were on hold. The second time I called someone had put the shoes back up and she had to go get them again...well when my friend goes to pick them up yesterday...they had put a freakin 9.5 on hold! Someone needs to go back to first grade and learn the difference between a 6 and a 9. So, needless to say I am pretty pissed. I am beyond frustrated with Target at this point because I received the worst customer service throughout this whole ordeal and

Politics and Target

Sort of a mixed bag post, huh? My candidate for Mayor lost last night, really really sad about that. I hate politics sometimes, but I really hate to lose. In my "professional" opinion he was the better candidate due to his practicality and truthfulness of the issues. He was very honest about the state of the city and even more honest about what he thought he could do about it. He never promised things to people that he didn't truthfully think he could provide ( like most politicians do), I worked for him and can attest to his genius business smarts. He runs many businesses and knows a thing or two about making them work and work profitably, which is what our great city needs...all in my opinion. Sigh...such is life. On to more fun news...Target! I swear, most times I go in there to try stuff on that I think is cute and it looks awful on me! But, finally...I have come across several things that I LOVE there lately. First and foremost: Cynthia Vincent for Target: h

Hard work pays off: House exterior

Mikey and I (along with some help from my wonderful daddy and brother) have been spending a lot of time doing some yard work and landscaping lately. Pretty much the whole first year we owned the house, we concentrated on the inside...now it was time to go out! This is what the house looked like right before it became ours. This is what it pretty much looked like for the past year (when we owned it). I did little things here and there along the way that I don't have pictures of...but for the most part this is what was home. TAAADAAA...what it looks like NOW=) We ripped out old shrubs, planted new ones which include holly bushes, azaleas, camellias and viburnum. We scrubbed and painted the floor of our porch, put new mulch down, installed the black railing on the porch, and got some black wicker furniture for it. (It is hidden behind the big azalea bushes.) I LOVE the completed look, obviously it will all look much better when the plants have had a year or so to grow, but I am r
