weekend rewind

Another semi lazy weekend in the books.  We are soaking up every last ounce of summer we can…of course summer doesn’t end anytime soon for us….we celebrate summer until we have to stop….September 22.  It’ll still be hot until then (if not longer) so there’s no point in trying to rush summer out the door.  (I’m looking at you, people who already want to talk about damn PSL and boots and scarves!!)  We had a lazy  Friday night , but not without a bit of a scare/craziness from our wild man Thomas.  We were enjoying some time outside, watching the kids play in the “sandy beach” area at my in-laws…when Thomas started to wander.  Not abnormal for him…he started getting close to the dock and boat ramp so Mikey got up to get after him….and sure enough T started running when he saw Mikey headed his way…so Mikey had no choice but to run…and that little stinker ran all the way down the dock and jumped in the water FULLY CLOTHED and with NO LIFE JACKET ON!!!!  Talk about giving me a heart attack.

beach week part 2

We spent Monday at the waterpark and the kids had a BALL.  We should have gone more than once.  There was one “baby” pool/fun area and one “toddler” pool/fun area, but they had tons of slides for the boys to do and they seriously could have stayed there all day.  Those two areas and the lazy river were the only “attractions” for kids under 42 inches…but it was enough.  My kids loved it.  Collins isn’t quite 42 inches…but as long as an adult was with her no lifeguards questioned it and she went on TONS of big rides.  I was so impressed…going down the mat rides all by herself.  It really was so fun and well worth the money!   We took a day “off” on Tuesday …that’s when I had to take the boys to the minute clinic to check for ear infections, which G had.  We went to lunch at a fun restaurant right on the beach that day and then rested for the rest of it…it was pretty wonderful.    The rest of the week was spent beaching, eating, and playing….I’ll save the end of the trip for another post

weekend rewind

Back to last week for a minute…went out to dinner and to see Bad Moms with my girls and it was AMAZING. Vulgar? Yes.  But, hilarious?  Double YES.  If you get a chance, go see it!  You won’t regret it.         Our weekend was spent being lazy on the lake.  We didn’t have many plans except for a couple’s baby shower Saturday nights, so we took advantage.  We spent all day Saturday and Sunday swimming, tubing, riding jet skis, and just relaxing outside.  Friends came and played and we went to bed early Friday and  Sunday night , always good to get lots of rest😊   We had a little fun adult time  Saturday night  as we celebrated my friend, Beth and her baby boy (on the way).  It was a good night with a lot of my favorite people.    I can’t believe we are already back to Monday…blah.  I spent an hour this morning filling out forms for the kids to start preschool, yikes!    Happy Monday! the Friday five: random tidbits

1.       We are gearing up for all things back to school.  Book bags have been ordered as have first day of school outfits.  We aren’t in the “overly scheduled” phase of life yet, so switching from summer to the school year isn’t a big deal to us yet…but I am excited for the boys to join Collins in preschool this year.  I’m so anxious to see how they will do, they are only going two days a week….but I think it will be good for them!       2.       We’ve decided to rent for right now….womp womp.  My head is going in SO.MANY.DIRECTIONS. on housing/life changes/etc. that I just can’t decide what to do.  There are so many different avenues we could go down (fixer upper on the lake/new construction in a lake access neighborhood/stay in same price range we were in for 3-4 more years and save a lot of money so we can really get what we want on the lake…..you get the idea).    We are going to rent in an apartment, which isn’t ideal, BUT they will let you do 6 month rentals…which puts us lookin

beach trip recap 1

Why do vacations have to FLY by?  I swear, the first couple of days seemed to go at a normal pace, but the closer we got to the end of the week the faster it went!  We had a WONDERFUL, relaxing, restful and fun week vacation at the beach.  Of course, we were hit by normal life occurrences throughout (I had a stupid sinus infection/cold and lost my voice, Collins got some kind of 12 hour bug, and Graham got an ear infection and we had to spend one morning at the minute clinic)…but nonetheless it was a perfect week.  We slept late, went to bed early and napped every day😉  We got lots of rest!  I was able to have 2-3 hours per day on the beach ALL BY MYSELF while the kids napped, how freaking amazing is that!?!  Thank you, Mikey!  At these ages, my kids are not huge “stay on the beach all day” kids.  It kinda drives me nuts because I LOVE the beach….but hopefully it’ll change as they get older.  Of course, two, two year olds on the beach is definitely work and they aren’t at the stage wh

Multiple beach trip recaps will need to be made…but for now, I’ll start with the most recent.  We scooted home from the beach early  Saturday morning  because I was concert bound with my high school besties!  Off to see the Dixie Chicks…everyone had to go with their high school girls, because duh…that’s the last time anyone liked them.  Ha.  It really wasn’t my idea…the company was fun and we had a blast together as always…BUT, I’m not really that big a fan of those girls…and their stupid political rally concerts….just not necessary in my opinion.  I think I knew 4 songs…    Thankfully, the kids were well taken care of by daddy for the night….love getting pics and videos of these goobers when I’m gone.  We made it back Sunday by lunch…and the rest of the day was spent going out to lunch, napping, looking at houses and swimming in the lake! Happy Monday!! Xoxo

peace out

Whew!!! It's been a CRAZY week! We are exhausted, but thankfully we are BEACH bound shortly for a week! Cannot wait!!  Peace out to the blog, work, and schedules for the week and peace out to our house for good....
