Costa Rica: tres

My last Costa Rica recap.  I feel like we were there months ago…funny how that happens when you get back to the real world.  The wedding was  at 4:30 on Friday afternoon , and it was PERFECTION.  It was a beautiful day and thankfully we had some cloud coverage so it wasn’t unbearably hot.  There was a celeb in attendance… (Luke Bryan…both the bride and groom work in the music industry in Nashville…bride works for Luke and groom works for ZBB, who was supposed to ,  but had to cancel at the last minute, major bummer!)  anyways, you’ll notice we got a few stalker pics of Luke:) They were there the whole time and came to the wedding events, but didn’t stay long as I’m sure he was trying to make it NOT about him.  His wife was super cute and sweet, and her name is Caroline…added bonus!  After the beach wedding, everyone headed to the reception which was at a restaurant that had one of the best sunset views in Costa Rica.  I wish I had more pics of the set up and décor, it looked beautiful!

Easter weekend

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend, and I hope that you all did too!  Our weather wasn’t the greatest…kinda gloomy and blah, but we made the best of it.  Weezie  (our kids caretaker) was off Friday, so Mikey took the day off to keep the kids.   After running a few errands he picked up lunch and I met him at a park for a picnic and to let the kids play for a bit before nap time.  I think they enjoyed itJ  We had no plans  Friday night  and did our usual week night routine…but Mikey and I did stay up later than a normal “weeknight” and watched The Big Short,  I give it an A.  They took a very dry/boring topic and made it interesting and funny…of course it isn’t funny what happened due to the complexities of mortgage banking…but the movie ended up being pretty funny.   We ran a few errands  Saturday morning  and got some new plants and flowers for the house and played with the kids.  After naps, we had a few friends over for a cook out, and all the kids had a blast.  We kept things pr

the Friday five

1. I got to go to my girl's preschool Easter party on Wednesday and it was so cute. They had fun snacks, played games and hunted eggs! 2. We are absolutely LOVING this weather. We've been spending so much time outside after work every day, happy kids = happy parents. Now if only the yellow stuff would disappear.  3. We don't have too much going on this weekend... Some house chores, cooking out with friends Saturday night and of course, church and lunch on Easter Sunday. Looking forward to spending quality time with my babies as next weekend I'm headed to Florida for my best friend's bachelorette! 4. I still need to find a dress for Sunday though... Oops. Of course I have had the kids outfits for months now. I'm thinking one of these two... I guess I'm digging aqua right now ;-) both from Loft. And they both can double as work dresses which is a plus.  5. Happy Easter! Xoxo

weekend rewind

As I mentioned, we headed to Beaufort this past weekend for a MUCH needed weekend of relaxation and rest.  Unfortunately, I got more rest than I bargained for…I caught the stupid stomach bug from the boys and spent Saturday laid up on the couch.  Ugh.  Fingers crossed Collins and Mikey don’t get it now…that thing is so contagious.  Regardless, it was a good weekend of NOTHING.  We needed it after going to Costa Rica and then immediately coming home and getting back to the grind and throwing a big party that weekend.  I needed a BREAK and some downtime with the kids.  Of course it was GORGEOUS on Saturday when I didn’t feel good and gloomy Sunday when I was back to normal.  Go figure.  The kids got lots of outdoor time though…my parents took Collins and my nephew on an adventure to the park while the boys (and me and Mikey) napped.  I was able to get vertical long enough to take pics of the egg dyeing that went on…Thomas kept wanting to just eat the stuff! Of course!  Regardless, it was

Costa Rica : dos

We all slept in  Thursday morning , seriously…so much sleeping in, it was fabulous!  Thursday was beach party day…we made it down around lunch and it was BEAUTIFUL.  You had to take a four wheel drive cab to go to the area of the beach where we were…steep and rocky roads will do that to you.  We all just kinda hung out with the bride and groom, laid out, swam, listened to tunes and drankJ  A perfect beach day!  The rehearsal dinner was  on Thursday night , it was held at a cute little restaurant that served authentic Costa Rican food.  All of the restaurants are open/not four walls, and it was a bit hot Thursday…but we definitely had a good time.  Lots of toasts for the bride and groom and good food!  We all headed back to the same casino/bar to hang out afterwards. The wedding was on Friday, and we had to be ready by 3…so we decided to spend  Friday morning  on an excursion.  We chose snorkeling, and while the fish weren’t so plentiful…there were some pretty fish….but nothing crazy, t

Weekend rewind

We had a really good weekend.  A little busy, but good.  Mikey had a work event  Friday night , a black tie optional type affair…I’m normally on board for these things but there was NO way in hell I was going after being gone to Costa Rica, unfortunately since it was his client, he was on the hook.  So, it was just me and the kiddos Friday night…we played outside for a couple hours when we got home, yay for amazing weather lately!  After dinner, bath and bed I went on a cleaning spree and got some chores done before crashing in bed  at 10:30 .  Saturday was BUSY!  We enjoyed our only real leisure time of the day all morning and spent it outside, it was GORGEOUS (again!) and we took advantage.  Once the boys went down for naps, Colls and I ran some errands for the wedding shower we were hosting that night.  Then it was back home for her nap, and time for me to get ready for the party.  Thankfully, Mikey’s mom came up to keep the kids for us while we showered my best friend, M
