Serious Contender for Best Year Ever.

In my short 26 years alive that is... Seriously, 2009 has probably been one of the best years of my life so far. I sat for the South Carolina BAR and passed, and then even got a big girl job! My very first one...although being a real life attorney isn't quite what I thought it would be, I am still extremely proud of myself for accomplishing this goal of mine. I got married!! (to my best friend, the love of my life...yadda yadda yadda, insert sarcasm here, sorry not one of those cheesy lovey dovey types!) I stood beside two of my best friends when they got married. We bought a house!! Since, I have thoroughly enjoyed renovating it, re-doing parts, decorating, etc. It's still a work in progress, but I love what we have done so far! I experienced some amazing times with all of my best friends in the entire world....every single one of these girls means the absolute world to me, throughout the year I was able to enjoy friendships with these ladies...they each bring something

Because I know y'all have been dying...

to see my Christmas holiday photo recap...you don't have to wait any longer! (applause, applause,) We started off our Christmas holiday with Christmas Eve dinner at my parents house, we celebrate on this night with my mom's side of the family...we have been doing this for forever, and we always have steak and potatoes (kind of a nice break from the usual). We had a smaller group this year because two of my cousins and there families couldn't come, but it was still lots of fun and it is always nice to spend so much time with my grandparents. Of cousrse, now that my brother and his wife have had a child, my precious little niece Belle makes Christmas time so much more exciting!! and here the little munchkin is enjoying her new chair from Grandaddy and Lolly. hubs and i in front of my parents tree my fam little belle, she was so excited about her presents! This is what hubs and I lovingly refer to as THE BEST BIRTH CONTROL EVER. haha. Seriously though,

Wait a minute...it's still December right?

So, just thought I would pop on over to LOFT's website today and what do you know...apparently they think it is March already! I HATE how stores do that... Shop this outfit >

Yo Santa...come back!

Aaahhh...seriously, the past 5 days FLEW by. Where does it go? I got a half day Wednesday and then didn't have to work again till today, but honestly...we were SO busy it didn't feel like much time off at all=(. We had a WONDERFUL Christmas though, got some amazing gifts, gave some amazing gifts, had a blast playing with nieces, nephews, cousins and visiting with family! We just did SO much and were SO busy going from one Christmas celebration to the next, I found myself so sad that it was all over last night. More to come later, a little busy at the moment...hope you all had a FABULOUS Christmas! Our new print hanging in the den, YaY!! I might have to do a whole post dedicated to all of our new goodies we got for the house!

STUFFED SILLY.

Why oh why do I do this to myself EVERY year. I swear I gain 6 pounds from Thanksgiving to the New Year and my scale proves it this year, ugh. We just got finished eating Christmas lunch in the office and once again, I stuffed myself silly. We get to leave at 2:30 today, woop woop! I'll be off to pick one last gift up, finish wrapping and then relax! Tonight we will probably go out with old high school friends, and then tomorrow we head to my parents. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, please indulge just as much as I will=) MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hopefully I won't look like this after this week....

Things on my mind Tuesday

Lusting Over ...I mean holy moly, it is TDF! LOVE her! Annoyed with... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/22/health-care-face-string-legal-challenges/ I am so sick of politicians being, well...politicians. This article in no way represents how I do or don't feel about the healthcare debate, it is just proof of my point of annoyance right now. Happy with...the season in general. Wanting ...motivation so I can get my butt in shape! Major holiday diet FAIL. Excited about...New Year's Eve, we are going here with five other couples!

Introducing The Glenn family

I just love the way our Christmas cards turned out...especially with my sweet little Milly in the middle! Everyone thinks it is so funny because I used to NOT be a dog person AT ALL. Hated when they would lick/breathe/jump on me, seriously! Although I knew we would always get a dog, I never intended to love her, let alone let her inside my house, as if!! Well, she stays in her crate during the day (no worries we let her out for a while during lunch) but at night she is all over the house playing. I would have died about a year ago. Honestly though, if my house had any carpet anywhere this would NOT be an option, but thank goodness for hardwoods! Hope y'all enjoy seeing our Christmas cards!

Talk to the hand

Ha. This phrase makes me laugh and brings me back to oh so many years ago when it was SO cool to say. Anyhow, this is how blogging and twitter make me feel sometimes. I am very new to the whole blog world (as evidenced by my small follower list, keep on reading girls, hopefully one day I will get good at this!), but not really new to twitter but I just recently started "tweeting" with other bloggers. I realize most of them don't know me, haven't seen my poor little blog, etc. but when I try and reply/mention etc. sometimes don't you feel like you are "Talking to the hand!" I guess that is how I feel when I do that and the people don't respond, its kind of a funny feeling...like wait, why am I even saying this again? But, then I have "broken thru" so to speak with some people and started convos that have been great! I guess it is all a slow process, I just find it funny at times! Anyways I'm gonna keep on twittin on...we will see

Leggins Help...Eeek!

Okay girls...I just bought my first pair of leggings! I know, I know...seriously? Yeah, I'm slightly behind on this fashion train but for so long I just didn't think they would look good on my b/c I am short and my thighs ain't all that skinny, sigh. Anyways, I got a black pair and a gray pair today from LOFT...you can't beat their prices and I got an extra 40% off, crazy right! So I thought, what the heck! Now, I need help on how to wear them. What all do you girls wear them with? K and K...help me remember my little fashionista roomies, i know you girls sport the look! I will def. only wear them with sweaters, long cardis, or tunics that cover the beeehind. What do y'all like best as far as shoes? Flats, pumps, boots, all three?? Opinions wanted. That will be all. Loves!

Throw Back Thursday

5th Annual Girls Christmas Party My college girl friends (lovingly referred to as the Cult, that story will come later) started an annual Christmas party tradition during our senior year of college. This year will be our 6th one (ouch, I'm getting old) and it is a fabulous time. Last year, this same weekend was our 5th...I actually hosted it at my old house. Things got wild, we brought out a video camera...needless to say it is very embarrassing to watch sober. We played it for everyone New Years Eve, the guys thought we were nuts! We always bring way too much food, but somehow the wine/beer/liquor always gets gone! We continue to keep it girls only, my hubs even asked the other day when we were going to change that, ha! Anyways, here is a quick recap of last years parTAY! Me and some of my favorite girls The whole group Out afterwards... Hope everyone is enjoying my throw back days, it's fun to see how people change even in a years time! Loves!

Whatever Wednesdays

My Christmas Wish List... Is Short. Very short. The hubs and I are not exchanging gifts this year...our trip to NYC was our Christmas, and what a great one that was! It seems like the older I get the shorter and shorter my Christmas list gets. Mainly because the items get more and more expensive. Besides the butt load of clothes mom and I racked up on at LOFT one day during one of their crazy sales, I have just asked for some stuff for my house. Here are some of the things I have asked for: This for above our couch. We have only lived in our house since July so I still am accessorizing. This is the main focal point in our den so I knew I wanted it to be perfect. I LOVE this painting from Ballards, it is perfect, esp. the colors! My sister in law is an interior designer so she will be getting me some sort of sconces to go on either side of this. I am in love.... Of course these bad boys are out of stock, tear. Hopefully they will come back soon...my parents may just have to gi

Things on my mind Tuesday

I think I am going to cave and buy my first pair of revas soon. The local boutique that sells them here is having a 25% off day...now which color? I am soooo sick of hearing about Tiger Woods and all of the trashy women he slept with. Not to mention, Today show...get over it. I love the Today Show, but you don't have to interview every two dollar hooker that slept with him. Sorry but I just feel like all they want out of this is their 25 seconds of fame and it is soooo annoying. Yes, I feel bad for Elin; she doesn't deserve any of this. However, I tend to be somewhat "non caring" when stuff happens like this to celebrities. I mean lets be honest, did Elin marry Tiger Woods because she really truly loved him, or did it help that she was afterall, marrying Tiger Woods...hmmm. Maybe that is wrong of me, and I know there are really people out there in the celebrity world that truly get hurt, it is just hard for me to believe that the money doesn't play a facto

Manic Monday Weekend recap

okay, sort of. Way too tired to do a full recap here...but we had an amazing time in an amazing city with some amazing friends! We shopped, ate (a ton), saw the rockettes (love them!), walked (i think the whole city), window shopped (looked at the big department stores beautiful displays, went to see the CAKE BOSS bakery in Hoboken, (pretty cool, even though they may fit in quite nicely on the new MTV show jersey shore!), did the ground zero thing including the memorial/museum (heartwrenching and awe inspiring all at the same time, i cried), and last but not least we drank (a lot)! What an absolutely perfect weekend I had in the big city! Seriously, because I know you all are dying to know, a long recap will come later complete with pictures (remember I warned you how much i love pictures). We didn't get home till 2:30 am this morning and this girl is POOPED! Hope y'all had a great weekend! (I know one of my four readers had an especially amazing one, CONGRATS KATE!!!)

Throw Back Thursday

As I contemplated what I would blog about I decided that I would dedicate one day a week to a "throw back." I'm going to start with one year ago today....and go from there. This will help give a little information on my life as it is now, maybe?? Or it will just help me have something to talk about. I wouldn't want you lovely ladies to get bored now would I?? A year ago today I was getting ready for one of my best friends weddings in Charleston, SC. (yeah, I just did the same thing for another best friend last weekend.) Good thing i LOVE weddings. The wedding was at Summerall Chapel on the campus of The Citadel (the groom went there, as did my groom as well...but we got married in Beaufort.) The reception was held at the Sand Dunes Club on Sullivans Island. It was a beautiful weekend and everything went perfectly! At this point I had only been engaged a couple of months, so everything wedding related was at the TOP of my mind. The bride with her bridesmaids

A warning

A. I LOVE pictures, and will post many. B. Sweet Chatteakathy will be helping me with a design layout after she finishes those law school exams....so maybe my blog will be a little prettier to look at atleast. More to come later today. I'm still thinking, I mean geesh this blogging thing might be tough.

Manic Monday

MANIC MONDAY. (weekend recap) ~First off, just want to say how excited I am that I had TWO followers before I even did my first post! What would I do without Kathy and Kate!=) Thanks girls, I guess for a bit I will be just talking to y'all...don't get too bored with me. We got back yesterday from a fabulous weekend in Charleston. One of my best friends Kayla got married Friday night at the I'on Creek Club in Mt. Pleasant, so we headed down Thursday afternoon for the wedding festivities to begin. It was a beautiful weekend/wedding and we all had so much fun. The bride with her college bridesmaids at the bridal cocktail on the Isle of Palms. Me and the blushing bride to be! girls at the rehearsal dinner Wedding Party ZTA/the cult/my BEST friends Our group of friends always has an amazing time at weddings, and this one was all the same! We drank too much, ate too much, and danced the night away! Saturday we spent the day drinking beer, eating oysters, and watching footbal

Taking the Plunge

WELCOME!!! Where to start...after my dear friend ChatTeaKathy, introduced me to the blogging world oh about 6 months ago, I HAVE BEEN OBSESSED. We are talking the kind of obsessed where I talk about blogs with my "IRL" friends a LOT, ewww is that creepy sounding or what!?! But, seriously...she turned me into an official blog stalker. During the time, I was too busy planning a wedding, job searching, etc., but now I have officially decided I want to jump on the blog bandwagon, what a fun one to jump on! What will I write about? No clue I tell ya. Nada. This is why this will be such an amusing journey for me and my (non existant) followers.
