{a wedding weekend}

AMAZING weekend. We had wedding festivities this past weekend to celebrate one of my best girl’s marrying the man of her dreams! Everything was PERFECT.  The ceremony, venue, food, flowers, EVERYTHING was stunning.  The bride outdid herself and she looked GORGEOUS.  We went to the rehearsal dinner  Friday night , which was perfect as well, (a bit freezing) but fun and the food was delicious.  The rehearsal dinner was small and intimate, and they had a food truck come serve us…pure AWESOMENESS.  Seriously, such a wonderful wedding weekend to celebrate the TUTTLE’S.  On Saturday and Sunday, we were pretty lazy and enjoyed just spending time with our girl.  We went on a few long walks around the neighborhood, played at the playground and just enjoyed the little things.  The weather was beautiful Saturday and Sunday and we took advantage.  As I’ve said before, C LOVES to be outside…so we spent lots of time soaking in the great outdoorsJ Sunday night  came around and it was time to

Welcome to Miami.....

***you know that song is stuck in your head now, right?! MIAMI.  So.  Miami was fun.  Admittedly, I think it would have been even MORE fun had we gone 4-5  years ago.  A) I can’t hang like I used to.  B) I’m a mama.  And married.  The whole clubbing scene doesn’t appeal to me as much anymore…obviously it is still fun to do every once in a while, and we did have fun….but a Miami trip 5 years ago would have been CRAZY fun with our group.  I was AMAZED at how many Europeans there were there…like TONS.  We were definitely the minority.  But, it was a cool place to visit…not somewhere I would be dying to go back… but I’m glad we went.  We did the pool scene both days…Friday night we did fun dinner and a more laid back bar and then Saturday night we did the CRAZY club scene atmosphere…complete with a “famous” DJ (people were taking pics)…we had some giggles, some good dancing, but after about 1.5 hours we were ready to go.  I’m just not a Miami type of a girl.  Even 5 years ago…I st

Fun fall weekend.

Well…we had lots of strike outs this weekend, but still managed to have a wonderful time.  Our weekend started out SUPER FUN as we spent a night at the SC State Fair.  I LOVE the fair.  It is SO greasy and dirty and icky…but yet I love it.  I love the people watching, the lights, the nostalgia I experience, I love it all.  We took C last year (twice) but of course she won’t remember…this year was even better. She got to ride TWO rides and loved them!  We ate good food, saw the animals and enjoyed the pretty lights at night.  It certainly was a fun family night:) Saturday morning, we woke up BRIGHT and EARLY to head to Charlotte.  We had all purchased the NASCAR racing experience for my dad for Father’s Day and had made hotel reservations to make a trip out of it.  OF COURSE…(seriously, worst luck) right as we get there, we get a call that it was being cancelled due to the rain.  SUCKY.  It was barely drizzling…we thought they would wait and make the call con

:the state of my toddler:

C bug will be TWENTY months old on the 17 th .  *sniff sniff* I just wanted to document some of her antics lately.  MY LORDY MERCY…toddlers are interesting little people.  Collins can be fake crying (yes, there is a LOT of fake crying that goes on in toddler world) one minute and squealing with excitement the very next.  The emotions can change ON A DIME.  We stopped by my mom’s last night to pick something up and she cried when it was time to go because she didn’t want to leave ….then mom played peek a boo with her and she belly laughed, then she cried because her lovie fell down while mom was buckling her car seat…so another round of peek a boo was had and she was full of glee yet again.  My mom looked at me and said “she’s quite emotional, isn’t she?”  HA! If that isn’t the understatement of the year…. In all seriousness, the crying NEVER last more than a few seconds (unless she’s hurt or something)…it’s just too funny to watch the different phases toddlers go thru in a matt

What Colls wears

I know you have all seen those pictures floating around Pinterest of the darling little girls dressed like, well...dressed like adults.  And they look ADORABLE.  But, that's just not how I dress my child.  While I think it's a cute look, I really prefer my toddler to dress like a toddler...she has the rest of her life to wear tunics, skinny jeans, and jeggings...I've never even bought her anything denim yet.  I don't prefer denim on babies...it's just not that comfy.  We may purchase her first denim romper dress this year...and she was given a pair of denim shorts...but they never seemed comfy...I just like to dress babies like babies. Example of darling girl...it's cute to play dress up with a little girl like this...but not for every day wear in my opinion. *And yes...we all have differing opinions and that's OKAY:)  This outfit is actually pretty okay with me, it's denim leggings/jeggings i HATE on little girls.  MAYBE once they are like 3.  But, be

{our weekend}

Well, we never made it to the pumpkin patch…but who can really blame us when it was NINETY degrees outside??  We should have gone out on the lake, geez!!  Have I mentioned that once  I  get ready for  fall  well, it better at least feel like  fall …urrrghhh.  Not even close this weekend.  Friday night we took dinner to our friends who welcomed their beautiful baby girl into the world two weeks ago…it’s so  crazy how quickly  you forget how TINY babies are.  We enjoyed some good convo and Collins loved “loving” on baby Kemper.  We started Friday evening with a little family golf cart ride.... It's so relaxing and a nice way to unwind.  On Saturday Colls and I headed to the zoo with my friend and her two little girls…and HOLY goodness, it was PACKED and a million degrees.  But, the girls had fun and that’s all that matters.  Collins attempted to feed the giraffe for the first time but then got terrified.  Pretty funny.  We lasted almost two hours until it was time to head
