Weekend rewind

Whew! We worked our butts off this weekend all around the house. Much needed. We finished painting the exterior of our house (well, for the most part. We will have a few touch ups and Mikey still has to get on the roof and roll the chimney.) I can’t even tell you how much I love it!! If only our roof wasn’t brown - ugh, one day.....  Mikey pressure washed the entire driveway and it made a world of difference. Now all of our sidewalks, patio area and driveway have been pressure washed. I, yes.... me.... cut the entire yard with our push mower. And didn’t realize I didn’t have the “auto” propeller on till the end, face palm.  We cleaned out a lot, took two loads of junk to the dump.  Next up, landscaping.  We also had some fun this weekend too. Friday after work we enjoyed several hours outside while the kids played. It was gorgeous. And then Mikey and I came back out for a little “at home date night” once the kids went to bed.  Then, Saturday night we left the kids with sitters and enj

Finally Friday!

For some reason, this week seemed to drag on! So hooray for the weekend. I’m at that point in my house decorating that my mind is a million places at once. I have ideas on tons of stuff and just need to start buying. Easier said than done, right?!  I’m leaning towards this combo of fabrics for the den/kitchen. I’ve already purchased enough of the solid oatmeal-ish color to recover the couch. I’m thinking the two fun fabrics for pillows and a Roman shade in the kitchen (our kitchen and den are like one long open room)- and then the small pale aqua stripe for some chairs we hope to eventually buy for the den. But, I can’t pull the trigger- on any of it.  These cuties are doing their second season of soccer shots- and it’s just adorable. I’m not sure how much they are actually learning/retaining at this age, but they enjoy it and it gives them one little activity to look forward to during the week.  My sweet girl has become dance obsessed lately and I’m so proud of her hard work. She’s SO

Weekend rewind

Rain, rain, go away.... SO many rainy days lately and I am OVER it.  There was an early release day last week and I took these two sweet girls to lunch after- such a fun little treat to do things like this:-) We had a fun and productive weekend. Enjoyed happy hour/cookout/chaos with friends and kids Friday night - got the rest of the house prepped and primed Saturday 💪🏻, and then enjoyed another cookout with friends Saturday night.  Sunday was spent Target shopping and bday partying before the rain set in.  Hopefully now that all the prep work is done on the house, which is definitely the longest/ worst part imo, the final coats of paint will go on quick!! We do have to do a bunch of caulking before that- but I’m hoping that’s something that can be knocked out at night a couple nights this week after work. We shall see! It’s looking SO much better- now just need alllll the money to replace to deck, the dock, and a major landscaping overhaul.....  #onedayatatime Happy Monday! Xoxo

Tuesday Takeover: Part Deux

So to follow up on a hack job I did several years ago, I feel the need to take over this blog once more.   Caroline does an amazing job keeping up with our life, our busy, hectic, never dull moment life.  And she does an amazing job documenting it, I know this will be the photo albums of our generation, and the kids will love it later in life.  But that's not the purpose of this post.... Our weekends are busy, our lives are fun, our hearts are full.  Being together since our sophomore years in college (15+ years), our life came full circle this past weekend to where we spent many of those college nights, and my 21st, good ole Pavlovs.... yeah we are old...we got judged...young people stared......  but thats ok.    It got me thinking about how far Caroline and I have come since we had the ole "DTR" in south tower in 2003.  To think we went from bunk beds and weekend visits to a family of 5 in 15 years, with law school, 4 houses together, and a dog, we've bee

Weekend rewind

!!!!!! It was a HUGE weekend around our casa- we finally took the plunge and started painting the exterior of our house! So damn excited about this.  Painting the exterior was always the original plan, we even did a different non matching brick when we enclosed the carport bc we knew it would be painted. Well, it’s finally time for that! After getting some quotes, yikes- we decided to do it ourselves!!! Our house is only one story and 2150 sq ft- so this wasn’t something we had to call in the professionals for. We split a nice commercial grade paint sprayer with my dad, pressure washed the entire exterior and finally got to work Saturday. Y’all- it is INSANE how fast and easy it was with this sprayer. The set up was the worst part. We’ve done two coats of primer on three sides of the house - it literally took only 3/4 hours worth of painting time. Can’t wait to get this finished over the next couple of weekends! Mikeys mom came in town Friday and we headed out on the boat and enjoyed d

Weekend rewind

I am SO over this weather- it’s gorgeous and 80 a few days and then rainy and 50 a few. Ready for permanent  warm weather and sunshine!!  We hosted Mikeys family on Wednesday night for Mikeys dad’s bday dinner- 8 cousins, 11 and under.... two sets of boy twins!!! Chaos, always. But, fun.  I took Friday off to just enjoy a day PLAYING with my kids since it was spring break. I feel like most of my days off are either for sick days (mine or the kids) or being out of town. I need to take a few more days here and there to just hang out with my little people- we had the best time. The park, a fun outdoor lunch, pelicans for snoballs, and then those crazies jumped in the lake when we got home!! We had fun evening plans with friends on Friday- sunset boat cruise and dinner our. And then Saturday and Sunday we were soooo lazy- it rained so much, ugh!! I did take the kids to see paddington 2 and it was adorable. And then Sunday the boys had a bday party while C had a play date- and then it was

Easter weekend goodness

We had the best weekend celebrating our risen King! From school egg hunts, to hanging out with friends and hunting eggs, to church, family time and two more egg hunts with family (where C found the golden egg!) we enjoyed it all on this beautiful weekend!
