weeeknd rewind

October, December, and May always seem to be the busiest months of the year to me…  there’s just so many “fall/Halloween” activities you want to squeeze in during the month of October…throw in the state fair and football games and we have LOTS going on!  But, y’all know I love it….   The kids had fall parties at preschool last week and Mikey and I were able to go for both of them…the boys were so happy to see us, it was adorable.  Collins just expects we be there, ha!  I love our preschool and I love how much my kids love it.     We were both home from work a little early Friday and spent several hours just playing outside with the kids and relaxing.  Those nights are much needed for our family.  Bonus for this Friday ngiht?  We put the kids to bed at 8 and then Mikey and I headed out for a dinner date night, nothing fancy and we were gone for about 2 hours…but again, much needed one on one time with my guy.    Saturday was BUSY for us.  We had the third annual Go Leo Go race, which ra

Everyone was up pretty early  Sunday morning  and we spent a bit at our friend’s house just hanging out and eating breakfast.  Collins always thinks it’s so cool to eat at someone else’s house, silly girl.  Anyways, we finally made it back “home” after a fun little stop at Party City…poor G and T were not big fans of the scary costumes!  We had a pretty relaxing Sunday… play time, naps, (a workout for me)…. And then it was time to get ready for one of my favorite Halloween activites…BOO AT THE ZOO!     We met a ton of friends and had a blast…my kids LOVED the “monster mash” dance party at the end…it’s my favorite too,  they could have stayed there for hours.  So fun!  I’ll just let the pics do the rest of the talking!

We had such a busy, fun fall weekend.  It’s back up to 80 degrees today, and was HOT last week…but cooled down considerably over the weekend and we were able to partake in some “fall” like festivities and not sweat!  I’m breaking up my weekend rewind post into two, because there are just too many pictures to post!  We started off the weekend with a little small town  Friday night  football action…  the kids LOVED it.  One of Colls’ besties came with us and even spent the night!  (first sleepover success!)  We went out to dinner after the game, and while it was a  tad  chaotic…we made it out in one piece.     We headed out early Saturday to the pumpkin patch!  One of my favorite fall activities, only negative is the prices soared and you will now spend almost $100 taking a family of five to the pumpkin patch, urrgghhh!  (this includes price of pumpkins, hay rides, playground, corn maze, etc….but still).   After naps, we headed to a friend’s house for the evening…we only took one pic, ur

The Friday five : random thoughts

1.       My boys.  Y’all.  I seriously can’t with these two,  they are at that amazing age before tantrums and attitudes start, and are just the SWEETEST.  Of course, there’s times where they don’t listen and drive me bonkers…but, mostly…they melt me.  Their sweet little voices and hugs and kisses are the BEST.  Just last night we overheard the following convo through the monitor:  Graham was kinda whimpering for mama….(which is actually VEREY unusual when we put them to bed…G normally goes straight to sleep and T will talk to himself for 15-20 minutes)…but, last night G was crying out for me and …   T goes: “Gahm, you awright, Gahm?  You cwying for mama” ? G:  “yeah toyas (how he says Thomas)” “I want mama” T: “it’s okay Gahm…I cwied at pweeschool”   I mean for real?!  How stinkin’ cute.  They have really started to love each other and get annoyed with each other!  They are best friends, but so different.  They are definitely starting to fight over toys and stuff, but then they’ll tur

fair fun

We took the kids to the fair last night, and as usual, it was a germ infested BLAST.  ;-)  Seriously though, I love the fair.  I especially love being there at night with all the lights and the kids got to ride so many rides this year, they had a ball.  We saw animals, ate greasy food, and rode every ride in kiddie land…what more can you ask for!?  ALABAMA was also playing and you could hear them as we walked around which was cool…and we ran into our besties.  Grandparents, fun, besties, food… = kids were in heaven.  Ignore Collins here... she was bored on the "baby boats"🙄 I rode with Thomas on his first coaster! My girl! Loved all the big rides this year!

We spent the weekend down in the low country, cleaning up from Hurricane Matthew.  Thankfully, our house received no major damage…just LOTS of trees down everywhere and three yucky refrigerators that had to be cleaned out.  I’m beginning to notice a theme, and that’s way more “relaxing/do nothing” type weekends lately…  #signofage ??  ;-)    We were actually supposed to have a big, fun weekend down in Beaufort and invite friends (and kids)…but Hurricane Matthew changed all that…  not complaining though as so many are still suffering way more.  Regardless, it was a good, laid back weekend of early bed times, play and rest (amongst the cleaning up).   Happy hump day! Colls got to take her class mascot, Bullseye home for the weekend😊 so we had to document everything Bullseye did! Bullseye supervising the clean up! Play time at the park  Everyone had to do their part😜

I had a two day firm retreat in Charlotte Monday and Tuesday and I swear its thrown my whole week off.  I cannot believe it’s already Wednesday!  So, we had a hurricane.  And, although it weakened by the time it got to SC, there is still significant damage and tons of flooding…a lot of our towns are STILL flooding today b/c of river flow from North Carolina.  It’s nuts.  And so sad.  My heart hurts for the people of Haiti, their loss is truly unimaginable. Thankfully, we haven’t seen a large amount of deaths in the states…but property damage is awful too.  Praying for my beautiful state along with everyone else affected.   We packed up and headed to my parent’s apartment Thursday night…they were out of town for the long weekend, so anytime we can give Mikey’s dad and step mom a break from our craziness, we do!  We had a fun family night Friday…playing with the kids and having dance parties.  I love dance parties with my kids because they have no clue I can’t dance, ha!  It rained almos

I’m slowly unable to keep up with this thing anymore…but, even if it exists solely for me to “scrapbook” our life, then so be it.  I like to have a little space to record our memories/events/everyday norms in this stage of life.  Work is crazy, raising three kids is crazy, and therefore life is crazy.  I rarely have much “down time” (and yes, this is generally my own doing b/c we like to be busy!)…but when I do get down time…i’d rather spend it relaxing and hanging out with the fam, it is what it is.  Speaking of relaxing….that’s almost ALL we did on Sunday.  I can’t think of the last time I’ve been so lazy and it was GLORIOUS.  But, that’s getting ahead of myself…let’s start with Friday.  My birthday😊I took off from work a bit early to spend some time with the kids before Mikey and I went out to dinner for my birthday.  The sweetest/most random gift ever goes to my girl…Mikey had “warned” me that she was super proud of her gift and thought of it all by herself.  My girl picked me out
