last night, my favorite place on earth and THANK YOU.

WHEW. A lot going on in that title huh!?! First things first...I LOVE MY FRIENDS. But, goodness gracious...the next time they make me stay up till 2 am on a work night....wow. My group of girl friends is pretty incredible...all very smart, hard working, nice, southern women. We have PR/marketing/creative geniuses, speech pathologists, doctors, lawyers, bankers, accountants, engineers, you name it....and we all got opinions. And lots of them=) We stayed up last night (after a fabulous cook out) till 2:00 debating politics, school choice, etc. I FREAKIN LOVE IT. I love listening to everyone's opinions, I always learn something when we do this, I mean I got some smart friends! Anyways, needless to say...I am a weeeee bit tired this morning, why did I think I needed that last Mic Ultra lime at 1:30??? We are leaving for my favorite place on earth when I get off work, I CANNOT WAIT. Our house in Beaufort was built after my grandparents died; my dad, his brother and sister all o

Throw Back and Thoughts.

Thoughts that are on my mind right now. Pretty sure the President just tried to blame everything on "previous" administrations (i.e. Bush) for the oil spill....that really burns me up. Quit placing blame and let's just fix the damn problem. My Gamecocks just lost two in a row in the SEC championship and only scored ONE run in two games. WTH? Now, they go home and hopefully begin batting practice. We are hosting a bunch of our friends tonight for a cook out before everyone goes their separate ways for the long weekend. I bought 16 ears of corn on the cob at Publix for $4 for the event, I knew there was a reason I freakin love corn so much! Something that made me laugh thinking about...one of my friends brought up getting old and our hairstyles the other day, do you think by the time I am an 80 year old (pray that I live to see that) I will have the typical "nanny" hair do? What will it be like for our generation? I don't want short helmet head hair, but

Time to Accessorize!

*I HAVE ENOUGH CLOTHES*I HAVE ENOUGH CLOTHES*I HAVE ENOUGH CLOTHES* I seriously need to repeat this to myself over and over. When we first moved in to our house, I got a decent amount of new stuff for it. However, lately I have been focusing WAY too much on buying clothes, shoes, ahem...stuff for me, rather than stuff for our house. I need to step it back up, there are several things I need for the house, that I keep putting off because somehow my money keeps disappearing....what new outfit!?! All the stuff below that I have been drooling over is from Pottery Barn, and yes, I realize that I can find a lot of this stuff elsewhere for way cheaper (i.e. HomeGoods). I just like to get ideas from PB... I would like these in light blue for our front porch, oh and some new black rocking chairs. LOVE LOVE these for our den I already have these shams, but want the duvet cover now for our bedroom. We have a plain brown quilt now with the zebra print duvet from PB...I need to switch it up e

weekend recap

This weekend was lots of fun! We actually stayed HOME all weekend long and it felt wonderful. Friday night, we had a party to celebrate one of our friend's graduating law school. All the boys Some of the girls Saturday during the day, I was supposed to lay out all day and get this pale body some much needed sun; but it was kinda overcast unfortunately. So instead, Mikey and I laid on the couch for four hours catching up on shows! It was pure heaven. We have "lazy Sundays" a lot, but never do we do that on Saturday...it was so nice to not have anything to do. We did decide to take the Millster on a walk before we had to get ready, and it was freaking HUMID!! Saturday night, we hosted a shower for our best friend's Haven and Tripp, the wedding day is quickly approaching! The shower was at The White Mule in downtown Columbia. We had an amazing one man band perform, Joal Rush was awesome and played all of our favorite songs! We even tried to get him to stay aft

OH. MY. GREY'S.

I finally just got finished watching the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. OH MY WORD. I have still been a faithful watcher of this show since the beginning, and that was hands down one of the best finales I have ever seen. I won't go into detail in case anyone hasn't seen it...but GO WATCH IT NOW. It is really good. I also just finished reading this , and it makes me excited for next season!! Still on the DVR....Private Practice season finale. Haven't really heard much about this one so we will see. Monday night is the TWO hour season finale of 24, Mikey and I love this show. I do think Jack has become a little unrealistic lately...but I am still dying to know what happens. And don't even get me started on the season finale of Brothers and Sisters, I might start crying. How is it that I can cry so easily when watching a freakin television show....really? Wuss? Yes. I guess it's a good thing I have Netflix in the summer, what am I going to do without t

Fun night and a throw back.

Pretty pumped about tonight's plans. As soon as we get off work, Mikey and I are meeting my parents at Pawley's Front Porch for happy hour and dinner. This little restaurant serves some of the best burgers around, and as you could have guess has a wonderful big ole porch for dining. They were even featured recently on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives , so cool...a wonderful shout out for Columbia. After dinner, we are off to see the GAMECOCKS take on the FLORIDA GATORS in baseball. This series is HUGE for both teams and will essentially decide who is number ONE in the SEC...gahhhh I hope my team wins! Florida wins everything, can't they let someone else have a turn, ha! We have great seat and it will be a perfect night for baseball. Now on to my throw back Thursday....kinda makes me sad. MY FREAKIN BACHELORETTE PARTY WAS A YEAR AGO. What? How did this happen. Sometimes it feels like my wedding events were yesterday and other times it feels like they were three years ag

Our weekend and some funny shit.

So, we watched Modern Family for the first time last night....we have been missing out! This show is hilarious...we loved it. It is now set to record on the DVR...I need some new shows for summer b/c all our favorites are ending right now. I hate how it is in the summer, I'm not a huge "reality" tv show person so I feel like there is never anything on in the summer. Bummer. Oh well, till then I will be watching Modern Family on Hulu...got to watch all the ones we missed! This past weekend was JAM packed and very fun. Friday night we went to Charleston to celebrate Mikey's best friends birthday. His wife had a surprise party for him at Taco Boy downtown Charleston. He was pretty clueless and it was hilarious to see him "get it." We always have a blast in Charleston, even though our wallets would much prefer we stay in Columbia...Charleston is just way more fun! We bar hopped after dinner at Taco Boy, then danced the night away before having to go ho

Oh Emily...."heart of the matter"

Okay, so I just finished Emily Giffin's newest book....I read it in about 3 days because I just HAD to know what would happen. I tell ya, I always think I love her books...but honestly I think they do me more harm than good. I don't know, I come away feeling SO SO conflicted. I feel like it has been like this with several of her books....the characters, emotions, occurrences, are just all so so real. It is kinda scary I guess....especially for someone in their first blissful year of marriage. She just makes me feel so torn.....

Throw Back Thursday and this week.

This week has been great. Normally, Mikey and I are constantly on the GO. I seriously feel like my weekend bags stay packed. We have also been really busy during the week lately as well, and as much as we love it....I think we were both feeling pretty worn out lately from the constant go go go of our life. We hosted a cook out Sunday night for my family, but by 9:00 we were on the couch watching a movie. FOUR nights in a row we have stayed HOME, (gasp! that's a big deal for us) and have been relaxing and acting like couch potatoes! I think we both really needed it. It has been so long since we have had that much down time...we got caught up on all of our TV shows (we were over a month behind on some!) and got lots of good sleep. Not quite sure if we will make it all week...we haven't decided on tonight's plans yet, but regardless the past four nights have been verrah verrah wonderful! Last year at this time, my mom and I headed down to Beaufort for my bridal portra

Quite the party.

So, as I have said...one of my best friends is getting married very soon! 20 of us girls packed up and headed down to Garden City Beach, SC this weekend for a super fun bachelorette party. We typically always stay in on Friday night and have girl time, lingerie shower, and then what we like to call "super dance party." Well, this one didn't disappoint. We had way too much fun dancing our booties off on the front porch for hours. The bride was so sore Sunday on the way home, you always know that means a good dance party was had by all! Saturday, we got burned. ha. Seriously though, the weather was gorgeous and since it was the beginning of the summer most people hadn't laid out much. Needless to say, there were lots of tan lines going out Saturday night! How I love to be sun kissed though....you know they say tan fat is better than pale fat (my new motto). We literally laid out on the beach all day, couldn't have been better. Nothing beats the sun, some go
