master bed and bath: before and after

I've been meaning to update the blog with pictures of our house.  I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel kinda stagnant in this house right now.  We don’t want to put any more money into it, and I don’t want to make many decorating/furniture choices based on it.  We know at most, we have a year left here…maybe less;-)  It just doesn’t make sense to buy furniture/curtains/etc. based off of the dimensions of this house and its spaces.  That being said, I am ready to get into a house I want to stay put for a while.     Anyways, I’ve got everything decently “done” in this house for now.  By saying that, I mean I’m done spending money on it and the rooms at least look presentable.  Of course, if we were going to stay here a while (or if money grew on trees) I’d put in new counters in our bathroom, switch out all of the brass, update the powder bath…new flooring upstairs…the list could go on and on.  But, I’m not doing that.  We can’t overspend and risk not getting our money back when it

the rest of our weekend

Yep, there's more. We weren't done on Saturday!  I hosted a sip and see for one of my dear friends and her new baby girl Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, rockstar dad took the kids to a birthday party... At a park. Woah! Two toddlers going in different directions! He was busy!  And then...after those events we headed to my brother's house for a family dinner! Whew! We were definitely pooped by 9 Sunday night. But, goodness what a good weekend. Girl time is so good. My bro and SIL have the best yard for play! The kids had a ball... And so did Granddaddy:-) Goin' to work on aunt Christies yummy dessert! My attempt at taking a pic of the boys, ha! Happy almost weekend!!!

wedding weekend rewind

Mikey’s brother got married this past Friday, which led to a FUN and BUSY couple of days of wedding events.  We kicked off the celebrations  Wednesday night  with a cookout at Mikey’s dad’s house.   My SIL’s family is from LA, so it was nice to get everyone together and have a casual hang out.  Thursday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner…Mikey, Collins and I were all in the wedding so it was a family affair:-) We took the boys to the rehearsal, which was kind of disastrous, thank goodness for two grandmothers who could help out.  They all had a blast at the rehearsal dinner though…they were so sweet playing and dancing together! I took the whole day off work Friday since the wedding was  at 4:30 .  So we got to sleep in and enjoy extra cuddle time before the chaos!  I took the kids to Weezie’s mid-morning so I could get my hair done… such a nice little relaxing break.  All of the girls met at the bride’s parent’s house to get ready…I think Collins was in heaven.  My little flower g

Mikey and I enjoyed a little date  night Friday  at Mr. Friendly’s …a fabulous local restaurant in Columbia. A couple hours just the two of us is necessary and so nice every once in a while.   Saturday was spent playing, and doing house chores, and I even snuck in a little nap;-)  We spent  Saturday night  cooking out with friends; love the warmer weather and staying outside ALL night!  Sunday was a repeat of Saturday: play time, house chores, laziness and loving on my babies.  It was good to have a low key weekend as we have THREE weddings out of the next FOUR weekends!  WOAH!  Can’t wait:-)

the Friday five

Finally Friday!! 1. I just got this new Kate Spade bag and I'm obsesed. I LOVE the color. I'd been carrying my black pippa for a while so I was needing some color. So fresh and pretty! 2. We had a girls night out Wendeday to see Frozen on ice. It was so good! Collins sang and danced during her faves! 3. My boys have been playing with each other so much more lately... And mostly it's the cutest thing EVER. Until one of them wants what the other has..... 4. Got the Fitbit flex. It's really damn hard to reach 10,000 steps on a work day when I sit at a desk so much. Got to get better about that.  5. Mikey and I have date night tonight:-) can't wait!! Otherwise our weekend will be filled with playing, relaxing, house chores and a low key cook out with friends Saturday. Can't wait! Cheers!

weekend rewind

We had a busy, but productive weekend.  We kept my niece this weekend…so we had four kids for the weekend:-) Of course, she’s 8 and is super helpful so it was easy peasy!  We knocked out several random house projects and I finally tackled organizing a bunch of the kids’ old clothes and stuff.  Boring, but stuff that needs to be done! We started our weekend off  Friday afternoon  with an ice cream date.  My boys are OBSESSED with ice cream.  As in, beg for it and cry when it’s gone.  My niece had her spring fling at school  Friday night so we took her to that with our kids…there wasn’t much for the boys to do but the girls enjoyed themselves.  After spring fling, we met some friends for dinner.  6 kids at a restaurant isn’t exactly relaxing, but at least it’s an opportunity to hang out with friends too!  And the kids had a blast.   Most of the day Saturday was spent playing and doing house chores.  I was on a mission this weekend.  We did break   Saturday afternoon   and headed to the b

The Friday five

1.         I finally bought this dress a few people had blogged about and I do love it. It’s just so easy to wear and you can definitely dress it up or down.  I got in the pink, but now want to order in a couple different colors as well.  If you need a cute dress that doesn’t break the bank, this is the one.      2.         I’m so stinkin’ excited about the weather, I absolutely LOVE the longer days and warmer weather.  We stay outside for hours when we get home, sometimes to the point where we have to RUSH through dinner and baths…but the kids LOVE to be outside and so do we.   3.         I’m finally going to buy a fitbit.  I’ve never been that interested…and I’m not so much buying for the step counter…more for the calorie tracking and vibrating sleep alarm! Ha! That’s what I really need it for.  I can’t decide between the alta and the flex.  Any opinions?     4.         We’ve got three weddings in the next 5 weeks, and we are invited to rehearsal dinner and wedding for all three! Florida bachelorette weekend recap

I need a weekend from my weekend.  That’s what kind of weekend it was.  Simply AMAZING, but WHOA… this mama can’t hang like that anymore!  We spent the weekend in Jacksonville celebrating my best friend’s bachelorette!  We left Thursday after work and got the party started!  We had 19 girls total, yes…19!  What was so fun for me was my fab five was in attendance (my high school besties)…all five of us are rarely together since one lives in Ohio and we always have the BEST time together.  Several of my besties from college were there too, so it was a perfect weekend girl’s getaway celebrating our bride!  We had amazing weather, complete opposite of what the weather forecast indicated, thank goodness.  Two long, beautiful beach days completes the weekend for me.   On Friday night , we had a limo (a surprise for the bride!) come pick us up to hit the town…we ate, danced and sang the night away! We stayed in  Saturday night  and ended up having just as much (if not more) fun and busted out
