In limbo

I’m having a really hard time decorating our current house.  Besides the rooms that were pretty much the same/the furniture transitioned over and the boys’ room….I feel like I am at a standstill.  The issue is of my own making, but I don’t know how to fix it.     The problem:  We won’t be in this house very long…I’d say 3 more years MAX…maybe less.  I am not one to buy “temporary” pieces…I’d rather not have anything than buy a bunch of stuff from Ikea/Target/Home Goods  just   to have a space decorated completely.  *Now, don’t get confused on what I am saying……there are things I have fallen in love with from Home Goods/Ikea/Target that I purchase because I really like them and can see them in my house for a while* But, I don’t want to just go buy cheaper “stuff” to decorate when I don’t love it just for the sake of completing the room.   But, I also don’t want to invest in nice furniture in this house because we all know that not every piece of furniture always translates into the next

Beaufort weekend

We had a semi low key/semi busy weekend in Beaufort. A little bit of both of you will.  We didn't stay up late either night and there was lots of laziness and relaxing time by the pool on Sunday. We spent Saturday out on the boat and at he sandbar... So fun, but definitely not lazy time:-) I only took a couple pics Saturday night... No beach pics from the weekend, dang it!!  Who am I?! Looking forward to a long weekend and celebrating our nation's independence! Happy Monday! Xoxo

The Friday five

Back with a little Friday five action.    1.     WORN OUT.  It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks, the past THREE weeks Mikey has traveled for work.  Two of the weeks he was gone two nights and the other, four nights.  That makes for a  tired mama.  These were all just random events/training sessions he had to attend as his job doesn’t normally require out of town travel.  I tell ya, it sure makes me realize I NEVER want to do life without him.  He’s my person and it’s just not the same when he’s not around. My little monkeys keeping me busy:-) 2.     BEAUFORT bound for the weekend.  We are heading to the low country after work today for some rest and relaxation.  Just kidding…who gets R&R with three little ones around?!  But, we are excited about a weekend on the boat and summer nights on the porch. 3.     I need book recommendations and nail polish color recommendations.  Anyone?  I’m not a big polish person……I try and keep my toes painted in the summer, but I’m not really one th

First birthday party inspiration

I could cry thinking about the fact that my boys will be ONE in 7 short days. It is so hard to fathom... I wanna keep them this age forever.  We are having a POOL party, because what else do you do in July!?!  With their birthday being July 1... I'll typically try and do their party the weekend before the fourth but this year we will be out of town so we are having the party Sunday July 5 at 4:30. I figured that way people still could have as much lake/pool/whatever time before the party. And I'm sure I'll just have to get used to a lot of people always being out of town on their birthday. That's just life in the summer.  There's tons of pool party inspiration everywhere you look on Pinterest, but I stole most of mine from www.docmomma.blogspot.com;-). As soon as I saw hers I knew that's what I wanted to do. We are doing hot dogs, bringing down the bounce house and getting a slip and slide. There's a huge yard in front of the clubhouse where the pool is that

Family weekend recap

Hubs was traveling last week and gone four nights!! Goodness;-). Thankful for friends who help me out! We had a fun little pool party Thursday night and the big girls had a blast! Friday was Collins' last swimming lesson... The boys and I happily watched from the sidelines! Y'all. Seriously?! Miss priss. Mikey got home late Friday night and on Satueday we packed up the car and headed to North Carolina for a family reunion. My girl came down with some sort of virus, poor thing didn't feel well at all that day.    We decided to drive home late Saturday so we could enjoy a full lake day Sunday.  It was HOT, but fun! We celebrated Mikey's birthday and him being an AMAZING daddy this weekend. We are forever grateful for him. Happy Monday! Xoxo

Another weekend rewind

Another super fun summer weekend in the books. I can seriously feel summer just flying thru my fingers.... Ugh! We took an evening cruise Friday night. Boys are starting to get better about their life jackets. Nothing a little food can't fix;-) We celebrated my nephews birthday at the trampoline park Saturday morning and it was a family affair.  We had a blast and I sweated my tail off! What a work out! I had been looking forward to Saturday night for a while. We went to my best friends engagement party and had way too much fun!! The flower girls attended for a little over an hour before my mother in law picked them up.  Yes, we matched:-)  It was such a fun night!! I got to sleep late Sunday... I think o needed it ;-) then we enjoyed a long day on the lake. Sunday night Mikey and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary with a boat ride and dinner on the lake, it was a fabulous way to wrap up a great weekend.

The Glenn twins: 11 months

LOOK OUT!!!!!!   The boys are now ELEVEN months old and as BUSY as ever!!!  I just can’t believe it, YESTERDAY…they were still in my belly…I would swear it.    Thomas is much more curious than G….and a little more stubborn it seems;-)  T seems like he is going to be more an independent booger….constantly stealing his brother’s toys and crawling at lightning speed to check things out.   T is standing pretty good now and pulls up on everything in sight.  It won’t be long ‘till he can free stand…which means walking isn’t too far away, aaahhh!!!  Thomas is a great eater, sleeper and baby in general….he cracks us up with his little stubborn “grunts” when he doesn’t want to do something or is being told “no.”  Everyone says he is quite “healthy”.... our chunk for sure.   Graham is my cuddly baby, he likes to be in constant contact with his mama and will crawl over something/someone just for me to hold him.  So sweet.  G loves to cuddle, but he’s also great at playing by himself or with his s
