The Friday Five.

1.  Okay, for reals...where in the WORLD is spring?  It's gorgeous one minute and FREEZING the next.  Seriously.  I had to drive to the upstate yesterday for a hearing and it was 39 degrees there.  WHAT the WHAT?!?

2. Cuddles.  Collins will NOT cuddle with me.  It breaks my heart.  The closest she gets is if she has her lovie and we are reading her book or doing something she will sit with me for a minute but girlfriend does NOT like to cuddle.  I need to change this.  How?  I basically held her down this morning to get some sweet snuggles in with her.

Exhibit a...holding her tight and all she wants to do is roll away and play.  Exhibit b...bed head.  For both of us:)

Sweet babe.  I put her in bed with me for a few minutes this morning and even if she won't cuddle with me, she'll lay there sucking her thumb for a few minutes before she wants to stand up and bang on the headboard!

3. We don't have a crazy weekend, just a few things going on...cook out with friends, a birthday party on Sunday and a cook out Sunday night to visit one of my friends who is in med school in Louisiana!  The plan is to hopefully get some yard work done tomorrow.  It's been a while and it shows.  I need some new pretty flowers for the yard.  And a spring wreath.  GASP!  I don't have a spring wreath, what kind of Southern girl am I;-)

4. I know I won't do anything about it anytime soon...(because let's be honest, I try and still use it for it's original purpose) but FACEBOOK is annoying the crap out of me lately.  I mean, it's made to "reunite with friends"/stalk people right?? I mean, am I right or what?  I love to keep up with people I know but don't get to see often and look at pictures of what's going on in their lives or read about it thru their often embellished status updates...we all do it;-)  A good guy friend of mine called me out the other day for having a "humble brag" because my status said: "Not much beats sleeping in until 9, waking up in the low country, and having a long weekend to love on my girl."  I told him that was pretty mild as far as humble brags were concerned.  But, seriously...I am SO SICK of all the shares/likes/business promotions etc. that are ALL over facebook lately . I am sure this is why I now go to Instagram FIRST if I am gonna check social media at a given time.  But, I still like facebook because I am "friends" with so many more people.  One of my friends put up the other day, " Hang in there, everyone suffering from disease or natural disasters...we are liking Facebook posts as fast as we can," and it made me BIG laugh because it is so true.  People are so dumb.  Just because you "like" or "share" something does NOT really do any good.   So, just stop it.  I ESPECIALLY can't stand the "10000 likes for my mom to get a dog" or whatever.  So over it.  I wish they would create a separate newsfeed for all that crap.  Even all the clothes stuff now...the shares drive me NUTS.  I like to follow all these clothing stores because they have great deals, but goodness....stop with the "share to win" PLEASE.  Okay, end rant.  Sorry:)

5.  I leave for the BAHAMAS in 4 weeks and I couldn't be more excited!  A group our girl friends are going to celebrate the year of "turning 30" and celebrate we will!  Now, if I had just started getting serious on that diet...ummm, you know...back in January....things might be looking a little better.  Ouch.

And now just some recent pics to end this otherwise lame-o post:

She's gonna fall one day.  But, it's so cute how excited she gets to climb up in there.
We celebrated Mikey's dad's (Granddadder) birthday last night with his family.  This was the best pic I got...C does not like to smile for the camera anymore:-(
Cheers to the weekend!

xoxo

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
