Master list = Major anxiety.

I thought I would put into writing our master to-do list for our house.  And you know what...maybe I shouldn't have.  OUCH.  Maybe it was more manageable floating around in my head.  Because now, when I look at it written out...all I see is TIME and MONEY and that gives me anxiety.  But, I just need to chill out, take it slow and realize it will get done sometime over the next 5-7 years we plan to be in this house.

I've listed most of what we've done: but we've also refinished all the hardwood floors downstairs to a darker color.  That was HUGE for me...I hated the previous ones.   We have painted EVERY single wall surface in the downstairs.  The only TWO rooms in the WHOLE house we have left to paint are the guest bath and the guest bedroom that will be the next nursery.  WooHoo!! I know that is music to my husband's ears!

Anyways, without further ado....here she be:

MASTER BEDROOM:

Rip up carpet, install hardwoods
Paint
Get a new chair
Two more pillows: bolster for bed and one for chair
Paint and accessorize chest for small blank wall
Hang frames
DIY a headboard

MASTER BATH:

Paint
New light fixtures
Everything else.  Woah.  Okay, maybe not everything..but I think we may rip out the shower/tub that are in there now and install new.  What is there currently is a builder grade fiberglass huge shower with a soaking tub/jet next to it.  It's fine.  But, I want tile, and more custom.  Definitely will be getting a new counter top...can't decide on whether to get a new vanity/cabinets or just paint existing.  Also can't decide on flooring.  Currently there is beige/neutral tile...which is fine...but I may want something prettier :-)

LIVING ROOM/DEN:

Paint
Built in's
Rug
Couch
Ballard's Chair
ottoman upholstered
Get wing back chair upholstered
Pillows for couch
New lamps for end tables
New tile around fireplace

DINING ROOM:

Paint
Get my dad to build a farmhouse style table
Chairs
New chandelier
New lamp for buffet piece
Drapes/curtains

KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM:

Paint walls
Paint cabinets
New lighting over bar
New lighting over table in breakfast room
Fix under cabinet lighting
New granite
New backsplash
New cabinet hardware
Drapes/curtains

FOYER:

Paint
Paint stair banister black
Decide on table for entry corner
Decide on frames for over console table in foyer
Styling/accessorizing
Install wainscoting on wall leading up the stairs
New light fixture

GUEST BATH:

Paint cabinets white
New lighting
New cabinet hardware
Mirror mate frame for mirror (brushed nickel)
Paint walls

COLLINS' BATH:

Get dad to build a frame around the mirror, painted white
Paint cabinets white
New cabinet hardware
New lighting
Shower curtain/accessories/towels

GUEST ROOM 1:

NOTHING!  I'm not wasting any time on this room because it will eventually be another nursery!

GUEST ROOM 2:

Paint
Hang art/frames
Decide on furniture placement

BONUS ROOM:

The ONLY room in the WHOLE house we will NOT be painting...wow!  It is a dark khaki color,  which goes perfectly with the color scheme I will be using up there...(basically using everything from den in old house)
Move couches upstairs
Turn blue and white chevron curtain panels into pillows for couches
Style built in bookcases
Make a playroom!

HALL TO GARAGE:

Paint
Paint door
Make and hang fabric covered cork board
Install wainscoting and hooks for jackets
Runner rug from Dash and Albert

SCREENED IN PORCH:

New flooring
Hang TV
New sectional/couch
outdoor drapes
rug

DECK:

EXTEND and make it BIG!!! We hope to do this sometime this spring/summer.

Besides the fact that I don't have a money tree in the back yard...my main problem with completing a lot of this stuff is making decisions!!!  I have the hardest time pulling the trigger on stuff.  Like for instance, I could have drapes in the breakfast room or the wing back upholstered by now if I could just decide on a damn fabric.  And we could have ordered our new sectional before now if it didn't take me FOREVER to decide on one.  Don't even get me started on cabinet hardward and lighting...especially in the kitchen.  Do I want to go with the new (old) trend and do brass, stick with brushed nickel?  Go with polished chrome?  EEKKKK!!!

Anyways...for now, I'll just go have a drink.  This exhausts me :-)  But, I love it at the same time.  I know, I'm crazy, right?

xoxo.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
