Valentine's.

As I've stated multiple times (probably to the point of ad nauseum, sorry!)...Mikey and I don't really "do" Valentine's Day.  I think it's a great holiday...for kids.  I mean by all means, let's celebrate LOVE...but going out to dinner and buying flowers/chocolate/gifts/jewelry JUST because it is Valentine's Day...smh.  Just not me.  Mikey does get me flowers every once in a while (last year flowers and a massage because I was 38 weeks preg and you damn right I deserved them!)...and this year I came back from lunch to a delivery from Pro Flowers.  Now, I'm not going to turn flowers down...but honestly, $50 on flowers... I would have rather he spent the money on something for the house... that's just me though.  But, I can't complain...with him being out of town for THREE weeks it was sweet to get a little reminder of how much I love that man.  I did get a kick out of the fact that there was a TEDDY BEAR in there...my first thought was, WTF...why in the HELL did he waste money on a teddy bear!! (I know, I know...I'm bad!)  BUT, my man knew exactly how I felt and in the card there is a big *P.S. the bear is for little C*  Ha!  More to make me laugh...after some sweet and sappy words...the card read "So...even though we don't believe in this, ummm,...holiday created by the florists unions of America, I love you.  Love, your sweet husband.  Hallmark-1, your husband-0."  I sure appreciated that.  Love that boy.

Anyhoo, enough about that.  My Valentine's Day Thursday was pretty yuck.  After working all day...I had to play single mom as my parents went out of town (C and I have been staying with them).  I had to meet some couple at our house to buy our grill...a Craigslist deal, always a little scary.  I thought they were going to be there by 6:30 (still daylight) but they didn't get there until 7:15 (dark!) so I was super nervous.  The lady wanted to hold Collins right away...ehhh?? Weird. Anyways, I had some time to get more clothes for the weekend (C and I are heading to Charleston) and play with Collins while we waited on the buyers to show up.  After that, I had to go to my parents house, get our dog and her HUGE crate, load them up and take them to Mikey's parents house...and by the time we were done doing all that and back home it was 8:30 and neither of us had eaten!  Not a fun night...boo.  Needless to say I was in bed with a book by 9:30.

I will enjoy these until they die... ( don't mean to sound so "I'm too good for flowers" because I do enjoy them... and I appreciate Mikey making the effort :-)  I would just appreciate them more on a random Tuesday just because...not on Valentine's Day...make sense?)

I did send Mikey a picture of our little Valentine yesterday morning... I couldn't get her to hold the heart without wrinkling it...so this is the best I could do with me holding the heart...there was no hope in getting her to smile too.  Another day....  :-)

Whatever your thoughts are on the day, I hope everyone had a GLORIOUS Valentine's Day.

xoxo.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
