{our weekend.}

Our weekend was spent LOVING on each other as much as possible...why you ask?? Because Mikey had to leave Sunday to go to New Jersey for THREE weeks for work. MAAAYJAH boo hiss to that:-(  I try not to complain too much thinking about military spouses...but it sure is sad!

But, seriously...we spent lots of time in bed snuggling together as a family.  Our little wee precious one has ALL OF A SUDDEN stopped sleeping late.  *POUT*  I really can't complain...she started sleeping thru the night at 7 weeks old and has ever since...she takes two good naps per day...and sleeps 11-12 hours  at night...but I sure will miss those weekends when she would sleep till 8:30 or 9.  It started very slowly but over the past month we have arrived at her waking up at 7 am like clockwork.  DANG IT!  EVERYONE in their mother reminds me this is normal and I was lucky before...which I totally get...but gosh darn it, I like my sleep!  And 7 to me is EARLY on the weekend.  Anyhoo...it did provide for extra snuggle time in the bed each morning as mama and daddy weren't quite ready to start the day.

Mikey took off work Friday to spend the whole day with Collins before he left.  We had a lunch date and then he took her to the zoo!  I was super jealous to miss out, but happy they got to spend the day together.  This was her first time at the zoo to actually see the ANIMALS, what a novel idea, right?  Seeing animals at a ZOO?!?  Anyways, I don't think she was super impressed with much except for the aquarium... sweet girl loved the fish!!  Maybe because she could get so close and really see them good?

These are the pictures Mikey took from his phone, which are incredibly blurry...but oh well, still cute of my lil' boog.  *vain side note*  So, I spend a decent amount of money on Collins' clothing.  Of course we have play clothes, too.  BUT, I generally put her in her finest if she's gonna be out parading around town, right?  I mean ...it only makes sense?  :)  So you can imagine my surprise when this is how my little girl showed up to me at lunch on Friday!  Yikes!  A for effort/matching and at least she had a bow...but COME ON, DADDY!!  I had her in a super cute pink giraffe outfit..I mean she was going to the ZOO for goodness sakes, she totally needed a ZOO ANIMAL on her outfit (this is one of those times I wish they had sarcasm font) but really...a nice outfit for a day out with her daddy at least?  He said her wet diaper leaked and her outfit got wet too...so this is what he came up with.  I mean the sweater was cute at some point...but it is a hand me down...and has a pink stain on the front and just looks plain worn...and the leggings weren't something I would normally put her in outside of the home...*gasp*.  Anyways...I know that sounded so ridiculous (sorry!) but you know it's just like "eehhhhh...."

Getting a close up view!

 Big smiles!
 in awe...
We spent the day Saturday getting Mikey packed and relaxing around the house.  It was a very nice weekend at home (out of the norm for us lately, we've been out of town 4 of the past 6 weekends!)  We had some friends over for dinner Saturday night and had good quality hang out time.

We had a nice brunch Sunday morning before going to the airport...so, so sad.  Good thing little C isn't old enough to understand!

I packed us up and C and I are spending the weeks at my parents house.  Home cooked meals (for free!), extra help with C, and not being lonely/bored were all too good of an offer to refuse.

Happy Monday!

xoxo.

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
