{our weekend}

Well...it happened.  My little peanut turned ONE yesterday.  It is so weird to think about saying I have a ONE year old vs. the whole "she's 10 months, etc." thing.

C and I had a wonderful girl's weekend.  We started off Friday night with a play date/spend the night party with friends.  My parents had left to go out of town on Thursday and I didn't really want to spend another night by myself...so we packed up and headed to our besties Haven and Harper's house for the night.  The babes played before it was time for bed and then Hav and I enjoyed some adult time wine and tv and gabbing.  We were in bed by 11...such a perfect Friday evening.

The girls sharing some snacks.

C and I headed out relatively early Saturday morning.  We were CHARLESTON bound to go see my bestest and then have a birthday celebration with my parents.  Y'all, it snowed (kinda) in Columbia on Saturday...yuck.  Boooo for never being able to have outdoor birthday parties in February.

We got to Charleston around 11 and headed straight downtown.  It was PACKED.  The Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition was going on (SEWE) or affectionately known as the "Barbour jacket convention."    Seriously, fratty/sportsman/wannabe SHOWCASE.  The dogs are pretty dang cute though.  We ate at King Street Grill, which is a perfect place to take a babe since it is so loud.  C did LOTS of eating out this weekend....she's becoming quite the pro.  Except for when she forgets her manners and stares at someone for like 10 minutes.  OOPS.  She was straight staring down an extremely hungover group of college kids at breakfast Sunday morning and I told them she was just a judging away, ha! Anyways, unfortunately the weather turned yuck and started raining a bit, so our time spent walking around downtown was cut short and we were back home by 3:30.  After naps (for everyone) and some play time, we headed back out for dinner.  Seriously, all I do in Charleston is eat.  How can you not?  We headed to Zia Taqueria for dinner where Sarah and I split some delish quesidillas and chips and guac.  It was perfect.  After C went to bed, Sarah and I did what we do best.  TALK.  It was so good to catch up with her...we watched her wedding video (first time I had seen it) that her HUSBAND edited (how cool is that?) and it was amaze.  Lots of happy and sad tears shed.

Me and my girl at Zia.  Mikey kept getting on to me to send him a picture of his girls.  Love this munchkin so much.

After another restaurant jaunt Sunday morning...C took a nap while I got ready for her birthday lunch!!  C and I met my parents at Fleet Landing at 1 for a little celebration.  Fleet Landing is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston, it's pretty casual which is much more my style, it's not that expensive, it has amazing views of the water (sitting outside is a MUST if the weather is right), and the atmosphere/decor is amazing.  C had some yummy fried flounder before it was time for CAKE.

Fleet Landing has a DELICIOUS red velvet cake they serve and we were set.  Happy, Happy Birthday to my BEST girl!

Cake for me??

 YIPPEEEEE!!!
 Cheese:-)
I'm telling you, she LOVED that cake.  Her Granddaddy gave her way too much...shame on him ;-)

Although yesterday was a GLORIOUS day, soaking up every little minute with my ONE year old, it just wasn't the same without her daddy there.  I know C never knew the difference but I sure did miss him.  We cannot wait till he gets home!

xoxo.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
