Thirty and thankful.

So, I told you guys I would be back with a more uplifting post to celebrate turning 30 and here it is.  No more talk about THIRTY.  It is what it is and I’ll deal with it.  Let’s talk about what really matters.

The FIVE things that really matter as I enter this new decade of life:

1.       I have been LOVED tremendously by family and friends: My husband is my rock.  He loves me, supports me, keeps me grounded, listens to me, and most of all makes me LAUGH on a daily basis.  I have a healthy, beautiful daughter who is fiercely independent and a mama’s girl all wrapped into one.  My parents are unbelievable.  No, really.  They are.  Thirty years of unconditional love, support, cheering, and laughter; they truly are my biggest role models and the absolute BEST grandparents.  I am fortunate enough to have more BESTgirlfriends than fingers.  Seriously.  That’s amazing.  These girls are there for me thru it ALL and make life that much better.

2.       I LOVE others TREMENDOUSLY: see above.  Love is the absolute GREATEST gift God gives us.

3.       I am HEALTHY. Enough said.

4.       I have a career that I enjoy and a job that challenges me.  I am thankful for where I am and proud of how I got here.

5.       We live in a great neighborhood in my hometown less than a mile from my parents.  You have no idea how happy this makes me.

I am beyond thankful to be living this life that God has given me and I thank him for it daily.  I can only hope and pray that the next 30 years are as AMAZING as the first 30 were.

Cheers!!

xoxo

What's in a name?

I tell ya, the name game is HARD. Really hard. I never thought that I'd be 27 years old and pregnant and not know what I wanted to name my child. I *think* we have come up with the one , but I'm not quite ready to put it out for the world to see...you know, don't want to many people rushing to get monogrammed bubbles. Ha! Jokes! Anyways...so I can look back and remember what all we went thru to come up with a name in 20 years I am going to lay it all out there. I'll start with saying I want a family name to be somewhere in my children's names. It doesn't have to be a first name, but some name in the child's name I want to be from a family member/family. We'll start with boys names, because they got taken off the table when we found out it was a GIRL..this will be short. Mikey's middle name is Thomas...his grandfather's name is Thomas. So...we always said Thomas would be in our son's name. I always thought it would be cool to do a Tho...

To my boys {almost two months late}

MY BOYS: A whole hand.   I can’t believe it.   The past five years have gone by at lightning speed!   You two silly, crazy, sweet, handsome boys celebrated FIVE like you do all other things- with genuine excitement and happiness in your hearts.   Y’all love life to the fullest and have the best imaginations- I could sit and listen to the two of you “play and talk” to each other ALL the live long day.   Y’all rarely fight, but when you do you make up within like 12 seconds, you boys are so different, but yet so the same.   You’ve both grown up in SO many ways and sometimes I have to blink to remind myself you are still my babies (because you are and always will be) but you both still have remnants of “babyhood” that I sure hope stays around a little longer.   It’s been a complete JOY to be your mama the past five years, as much as I want to keep you this AGE FOREVER, I know it’s not possible and am excited to watch you two grow and blossom in l...

25 weeks....yesterday!

Holy moly!!!! Baby Girl is doing some maaaayjah GROWING:) How far along? 25 weeks. Size of the baby? 13.5 inches and a pound and a half, grow baby girl, grow! Also known as an “average rutabaga”…um, okay. I’ll take Baby Center’s word for it. Maternity Clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe is shrinking! I have bought several maternity tops, but most of them still look way too big. Still haven’t made the transition to maternity pants even though the bella band aggravates me sometimes. It’s the worst with my work pants, it constantly rolls down. I need to just suck it up and make the switch. Stretch Marks? None have appeared yet, still using the Palmer’s and Bio Oil a few times a week. Movement? Same. It’s so crazy how hard my belly gets at night, it is like she is all knotted up in one place. And the BELLY gets insanely BIG at night! Sleep? Eh…it’s been okay lately. I toss and turn a bunch. Food Cravings? Nothing crazy yet. I have been eating lots of peanu...
