Just a quick little update on what our 15 month old has been up to lately. She is NON STOP toddler. A BUSY bee. She's becoming quite independent, does not like to be held "down," and in typical toddler fashion likes to get her way. She LOVES to dance...we have started having dance parties on the porch and she just squeals with delight. As soon as she hears music she starts bouncing up and down, bending her knees, clapping and twisting side to side. It is so, so cute. She's definitely talking more and more...words that we hear all the time include: hello, bye, mama, uh-oh....words that we've heard her say but are more infrequent are: dog, duck, please, stop, no. Her hair is starting to get a little curl in it and getting longer every day. Her feet are FINALLY growing...I think she is just about outgrown her size 2 shoes. I think we are at 7 or 8 teeth now, although she still does not love to have her teeth brushed. She likes to hold the toothbrush herself (duh) but let's be honest she doesn't get anything done with it. She's finally figured out how to actually ride on her little ride on toys and rides on them all over the house....slowly scooting those short, chubby legs along. She's still a sweet baby for the most part and is still a magical sleeper. We are still getting two good naps a day and 11-12 hours at night. Woohoo!! I can't believe how fast she is growing up right before my eyes!!!
She is still in her infant car seat in my car...why mess up a good thing? She does not complain and ours goes until 30 pounds so she fits perfectly. It is rear facing. No, I do not lug her around in it anymore...but that is what she rides in the majority of the time. We already had the Britax marathon, so about two weeks ago we went ahead and installed it in Mikey's truck. I would prefer it to stay rear facing as well (the AAP now recommends rear facing until age 2) but the way the convertible car seats are made make it extremely difficult for a child to be rear facing. Even Collins, with her short, little legs has to scrunch up her legs when it is rear facing. So, we just kept it forward. She rides in my car the majority of the time and she will stay rear facing in her infant car seat as long as I can get her to:) She does not complain one bit about it, and is a really good car rider, so I'm just not too concerned about it at this point. We will make the switch at some point.
Here is a pic of her the first time she rode forward facing two weeks ago!
Height: 30 inches (up to 30%)
Weight: 23.4 (about 65%) (so she's starting to even out a tad...but still short and chunky!)
Diapers: size 3 Pampers swaddlers during day and size 3 Pampers night time at night
PJ's: mostly 12 month...still a few 9 mo that fit her...but need to buy some more 12 month pajamas.
Outfits: 12 months, 12-18 mo depending on what type of outfit it is
Schedule:
Wake up: around 7:30/8
Breakfast and sippy cup with milk
Play
Nap around 10:30 (about 1.5 hours)
Lunch and sippy cup with milk
Play
Nap around 2:30 (about 1.5 hours)
Play
Dinner and sippy cup with milk
Bath
Bed: 8:00
As far as food is concerned she is exerting ALL toddler strength. One night she will eat the fool out of something and then the next night or two act like I am feeding her cardboard. If she doesn't like something she just lets it fall out of her mouth. Then she will pick the food up and throw it on the floor, fun times!! Typically, she always will eat applesauce, yogurt, breads. Most of the time she loves fruits: strawberries, bananas, oranges. Veggies are give or take depending on the night.
Okay, enough rambling....
