Woahsidaisies. *I know...it's not a word.*

I feel like it is has been FOREVER since I've blogged...but you know, between a super amazing, laid back, nothing to do weekend, crazy winter storm of 2011 and a little trip to a fun place called MEXICO, there just hasn't been much time!! So how shall we catch up? With bullets of course!

-Two weekends ago was one of the best weekends ever...wanna know why? Because we did nothing!! It was marvelous...I needed a re-charge type weekend, little did I know I would get to re-charge a little too much with the impending snow storm 11'. Seriously though, we spent the whole weekend relaxing on the couch, watching movies, did some cleaning, some snuggling, and lots of sleeping. Pure bliss.

-That Sunday we did get motivated and headed out to church and brunch with friends...it was freezing, but a perfect end to what I thought was the last of my laziness for a while...well at least until we left for Mexico that following Wednesday. Little did I know I would wake up Monday morning to a winter wonderland. Yes, 3-4 inches of snow is a winter wonderland in Columbia. Sunday afternoon, my mom and I went and saw Black Swan (several movie and book reviews to come later). But, let me just say I freaking LOVED that movie. I've heard reviews all over the board...but I loved every crazy, insane, awkward moment of it. *yeah...it's a tad awkward to watch with your momma!!

-So...due to snow storm 11', Monday was spent being LAZY again=) I sure didn't mind... Once Mikey and I both learned we didn't have to work, we headed out doors with Milly and played till my feetsies were freezing! Milly LOVED the snow...it was so soft and powdery too. We came in, cooked pancakes, then resumed our positions on the couch. Another wonderful long day of movies and couch snuggles with my two favorite people. Heaven on earth.

-But, then...I started to get a little antsy...you know me, after spending a weekend in, I was going crazy by 6 pm Monday night. The roads had begun to turn to ice at this point, which is why the whole state shuts down during our rare snow storms, the ice just makes everything so dangerous. AND...because we live in the South...we have hardly any man power/equipment to handle all that ice for the whole state. Anyways, point being...Mikey and I both needed to get out for a bit. Thankfully we have good friends that live within 1 mile of our house and you can stay on "backroads" for most of it. So, we headed to watch the National Championship game with some friends...YAY AUBURN!!

-Repeat. Kinda...Tuesday came and the roads were still really bad, parking lots were like ice skating rinks. We didn't have to go to work on Tuesday either...goodness, that was just insane to me! But, I did end up going in work for several hours during the middle of the day. I mean, I was leaving the next morning for MEXICO...I just had to get some work done, blah.

-Tuesday night we met a bunch of friends for dinner and drinks...at this point everyone was going stir crazy and had bad cabin fever. After playing for a while, it was time to come home and PACK!!! This is the first time I have ever had to pack for a tropical vacation in the dead of winter, it was weird.

-5 am Wednesday morning...loaded a bus to go to the airport in 28 degree weather, what fun!

-9 pm last night...got home, there is still snow on the ground. Welcome back to cold weather and the real world!!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
