30 Day Blog Challenge...yep, I'm still truckin' along!

Thought I forgot all about this little thing did you!?! No sirreee!! Just stretching it out into more of a 300 day blog challenge...you know, because that totally makes sense.

Anyways, on with it. Day 22: Your Favorite City.

Hmph.

For starters...I'm not a world traveler...my parents weren't/aren't big travelers. We go to the beach a million times a year...and went snow skiing a lot growing up, but as far as going to big cities?? Yeah...notsomuch.

I've now been to the "big" ones I guess: Vegas, NYC, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Key West, Atlantic City, Orlando, Jacksonville, Charleston, you get the point...

But, my FAVORITE city? That really stumps me. If you know me or have read this blog at all, you know that my favorite place on earth is Beaufort, SC...for way too many reasons to name right now. But, I don't really consider that a "city" for obvious reasons. I mean, I guess...maybe not so obvious, it is a city; but when I think "name your favorite city" I think BIG city type cities...you know where like "city" people live and stuff. Are you sick of the word city yet, I am.

So...I think I am going to play it safe and keep it real with South Carolina and say my favorite CITY is Charleston. Charleston comes in a VERY close second to Beaufort in my book...they are alike in many many ways...Beaufort is really just a much smaller Charleston. But, I think Charleston can much more be defined as a city. I love Charleston for a million reasons:

1. It is BEAUTIFUL.
2. The history...so rich in history, I could go on tours for days and still learn something new. And this is MY state's history, I've heard a lot of it. Mostly I like to hear of real families that lived there and stuff like that.
3. There is ALWAYS something to do. ALWAYS. Whether it is strolling the battery, the market, the gorgeous old streets, ghost tours, boat tours, carriage tours, house tours, eating at the most wonderful restaurants, shopping, going to see a play, visit the park...enough rambling, but you get the point. Charleston is always buzzing with activing, day or night. There are always tons of tourists mixed in with the locals and it is just so charming.
4. The charm. Did I already say that?
5. The eclectic mix of people, businesses, restaurants, etc.
6. Although Charleston is a historical city, it is also very hip. Hip and historical...wonderful contrasts.
7. The people. From the blue-blooded locals to the just moved to the south yankees, they all make this city truly wonderful.

You should definitely visit sometime if you never have!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
