My Mexication.

Time to blog about our "relax-cation," Mexico style. Mikey is the Chamber of Commerce representative for Carolina First Bank, the chamber pays for all of their sponsors to go on a trip every year as a thank you to them for raising money for the chamber. Mikey is the chamber rep = a FREE trip to Mexico for us! Pretty good deal, huh!?!

As we left Columbia bright and early...(well, not so bright considering it was 5 am and FREEZING outside) Wednesday morning...there was still lots of snow and ice on the ground. I was hoping for really warm weather and a beautiful sunshine the whole time we were in Mexico...unfortunately, that didn't happen:(. The weather just didn't cooperate with us. It was cloudy and windy most of time, with the sun making a debut every once in a while. We did get to sit out by the pool for a few hours Saturday and enjoy a little bit of sunshine, so not all was a lost cause. Not much you can do though, and I wasn't going to complain, considering it was FREE and all.

We still had a wonderful vacation though...spent lots of time sleeping, reading, ate lots of yummy food, met some new friends, enjoyed some cocktails, and spent a half day at the spa...not too shabby. Seriously, the spa was the bomb. We had a couples massage and spent the first 4 hours in the "hydrotherapy circuit." It was for real amazeballs. Sauna to cold shower to steam room to cold pool back to hot tub...you get the point. It was heaven on earth.

Anyways, here are some of our pictures from the trip.

Night 1

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
