Dorothea Benton Frank bar crawl

All of us are pretty big DBF fans...I have read all of her books, I love quite a few....Plantation, Shem Creek, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms...some of her newest ones aren't as good, but they are still great beach reads! Mikey and I go to Sullivan's Island/Isle of Palms area a good bit because we have friends that live in Mt. Pleasant, we love to go to the beach at Sullivan's and then to all the bars there afterward. As I mentioned previously, this past weekend was my Aunt's Birthday celebration and the women in the family (minus one Aunt who couldn't make it!) headed to Isle of Palms for the weekend for a girls get away. We thought it would be fun to go to the places that DBF talks about in so many of her books. Mikey just thought this was quite comical and dubbed our trip the DBF bar crawl. Yeah, we were being major tourists, but who cares! It was fun.

This is all of us at Atlanticville, where the main character of "Lowcountry Summer" works. It was absolutely delicious, and the waiter even told us that DBF comes in quite a bit...along with our pretty famous first lady, Jenny Sanford! The food was simply amazing, the restaurant is tucked away on Sullivan's about a block past the "busy" section of bars and restaurants. It is quite cozy in an old renovated house, so quaint and cute!

My mom, who was in charge of the planning....got us all matching visors with our initials on it as part of our "gift bags!" Here all of us are enjoying a gorgeous day on the Isle of Palms.
We stayed on Isle of Palms the first night and ate at Huck's Lowcountry Table...let me say one word, WOW. They had these shrimp hushpuppies...ohmygawww they were delicious! I could have and probably did eat about the whole basket.
Sunday was spent W-O-R-K-I-N-G! We had new tenants moving into the house that my dad owns and I (luckily, ha!) get to "manage" for him and we had lots of stuff to do to get ready. Mikey and I literally worked over there from 1 - 9 and it was hot.

We had a special treat last night, two of my best friends in the WHOLE world (just for you Jenn!! Cause I know you are like the only one that may read...don't stop now! ha!) came into town for dinner. They both live out of town....tear, and we don't get to see them very much. We decided that a perfect girls night would take place at our ole standby and stomping grounds Za's. Gahhh, what fun girls nights are....and even more fun when special out of town visitors get to join!

Tonight, we are heading to Augusta to Mikey's moms house to pick up a piece of furniture. One of her friends offered to make us something for our wedding gift and it is finally finished. I am so excited and can't wait to see what it looks like. I requested a built in cabinet of sorts that will look kind of like a window seat to go in my den. I will finally, sing hallelujia... have a place to put all the stupid cords that come along with TV's, DVD players and friggin X-boxes!! You don't even understand how happy this makes my OCD/neat freak self. Oh happy days!

In other exciting news, Mikey and I get to keep my precious niece Belle this Friday night...this is the first time she has ever spent the night with us. I am beyond thrilled. I hope she has so much fun and will always want to come visit Aunt Caroline, Uncle Mikey and Milly! She LOVES her some Uncle Mikey and Milly=)

Okay, back to work I go!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
