weekend rewind

We had a busy, fun(!!) weekend and ended it with a trip to the ER Sunday night…. womp womp.

Mikey and I attended a coworker’s wedding Friday after work and then went out and met up with a big group of friends for a birthday celebration later that night…  we missed the dinner and just met up for drinks, but getting together with friends at a restaurant (without kids) is always a good time.  Wish we could do it more often.

Collins and two of her friends attended a little half day cheer clinic at Carolina Saturday morning and then they got to perform at half time of the men’s basketball game right after, so we headed downtown for lunch after the cheer camp and then went to the game.  We were SO proud of our girl…she smiled the whole time and rocked it!  They were all so cuteJ   We stayed until a little after halftime, and then needed to get back home for a little rest/nap/regroup time before Mikey and I had to go to a wedding shower.  Like I said, busy weekend.  We had the best time Saturday night catching up with some friends that we don’t get to see all that often and celebrating an upcoming wedding…my parents threw the shower and it’s always a good time when their crowd is involved too. The kids were spending the night out so we took advantage and stayed up a little later than normal these days, ha!  Luckily, we got to sleep till 8:30 Sunday and then we went to scoop up our babies.

There was lots of “loud/dirty” work going on around the house Sunday, so we spent the morning playing outside and then after naps I took the kids to the park AND the movies all by myself.  For real, that’s pretty impressive (only because of their ages…taking two, 2.5 year olds anywhere by yourself is tough!!).  I kept telling the boys they would have to stay in the whole movie because I couldn’t leave Collins to take them outside for breaks (like we normally do if we all five go…) and they did SO, SO good.  I mean, for 2.5 years old…we took ONE bathroom break/boys run around for one minute and they were great the rest of the time.  The large popcorn we all shared probably helped;-)

And then.  Sunday night happened.  I got what i guess was my first migraine ever.  Y’all.  OMG.  It was debilitating.  I needed DARKNESS, was vomiting and literally burst into tears b/c of the pain.  After taking Excedrin migraine and it not helping…the pain was still intense after 3 hours, on the advice of my nurse practitioner, we went to urgent care.  Thank God for modern medicine, aka Percocet.  The pain finally started to dull around 10:30…(headache started around 6:30…so that’s four hours of miserableness)… but apparently I said the magic words of “worst headache of my life” and because of that the doc wanted me to get a CT scan to rule out a hemorrhage.  Well, of course the CT scan tech was off at the urgent care b/c they closed at 10, so he sent us to the ER.  Yikes.  We were actually at urgent care longer than we were the ER though, so it wasn’t too bad.  By the time I got to the ER I felt almost normal, so it was weird being there…but glad we did it just to make sure.  So glad that is over and I certainly pray that was a one-time thing because it was AWFUL. Anywho, feel great today…thank you GOD!

Happy Monday!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
