the Friday five

Having Monday off work is amazing, but it also makes me feel like my work week just started and it’s already FRIDAY!! WHAT?!!  Not complaining though!

1.     Busy weekend ahead, we started off with another gala last night for Mikey’s work…have a wedding tonight and a wedding shower Saturday night!  Thank goodness we have grandparents close by for the babysitter rotation or otherwise we’d go broke. But, the kids did say they had a blast with their babysitter, Ms. Shelby last night…so that’s always a good thing.

2.     The house is moving along, quickly!  Thank goodness for that!  We are still living in chaos, mainly because the floors will be one of the last things to be installed and until then everything is in disarray.  BUT, our countertops were installed yesterday (WOOOHOOO to that!), the painter continues knocking out rooms and the bathroom is getting tiled this weekend!

3.     I saw this picture on Instagram from a builder…I am OBSESSED with that island color, and you know what?!  They won’t tell me what it is!  I don’t get that… I understand designers not sharing everything, but it’s paint!  They didn’t design the paint.  URRRGGHHH.  Pretty sure I am going with RAINWASHED by SW on the island, just not sure if we will do it at full color or 50%.

4.     I MADE A DECISION ON LIGHTING.  WHAT!?? That’s huge for me.  HUGE.  I ordered our dining room light, master bath vanity lights and the pendants for over the island.  Really hope they all look good!

5.     I’m chopping my hair today.  As much as I wish I did, I just don’t have the texture for long hair…it just winds up looking limp. And I also don’t take the time to “do” my hair…so therefore, that doesn’t help either.  But, that’s not changing.  I’m just not the person who spends a ton of time getting ready, I’d rather sleep later in the mornings or keep playing with my babies other times.  It just ain’t gonna happen, so I’m going for a shorter do…wish me luck!

Happy weekend!!

Xoxo

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
