Movin' on up.

Colls finally got upgraded to a big girl car seat.  We were given a Britax Marathon from my cousin that we had been using in Mikey's truck for the past couple of months.  So...she has been in a convertible car seat for a few months, but she's not in Mikey's truck as much as my car so this was a big step!!  We knew we needed to buy another one soon, but really weren't in too big a rush as she was perfectly content in her infant car seat still...facing rear.  She's a great car rider, so we really didn't worry about it too much.

Well...we were in Buy Buy Baby the other night getting a few things and just stopped to browse the car seat section and WHAT DO YOU KNOW!?!  They had JUST gotten in 6 Britax Advocates, that had dents in the boxes (absolutely nothing wrong with the seats themselves) and were going to be sold AS IS for 50% off.  DO HUH!!??  AND THEN, we got to use a 20% coupon on top of that.  The Advocate retails at BBB for $389 ($289 on Amazon) and we got it for $160 including tax!  WOOHOO to that!  We even decided to buy TWO so that we could give the marathon to my mom (she needed another one).  Admittedly, it's not my favorite print...but I think I can let go of that for the amazing  deal we got.  They are girly prints, that was all they had...but we just figured if we had a boy down the road, we could just buy a cover, they sell in several colors.

I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast.  Makes me sad:-(  I'm sure she likes facing front now, though!!

What's in a name?

I tell ya, the name game is HARD. Really hard. I never thought that I'd be 27 years old and pregnant and not know what I wanted to name my child. I *think* we have come up with the one , but I'm not quite ready to put it out for the world to see...you know, don't want to many people rushing to get monogrammed bubbles. Ha! Jokes! Anyways...so I can look back and remember what all we went thru to come up with a name in 20 years I am going to lay it all out there. I'll start with saying I want a family name to be somewhere in my children's names. It doesn't have to be a first name, but some name in the child's name I want to be from a family member/family. We'll start with boys names, because they got taken off the table when we found out it was a GIRL..this will be short. Mikey's middle name is Thomas...his grandfather's name is Thomas. So...we always said Thomas would be in our son's name. I always thought it would be cool to do a Tho...

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou...

25 weeks....yesterday!

Holy moly!!!! Baby Girl is doing some maaaayjah GROWING:) How far along? 25 weeks. Size of the baby? 13.5 inches and a pound and a half, grow baby girl, grow! Also known as an “average rutabaga”…um, okay. I’ll take Baby Center’s word for it. Maternity Clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe is shrinking! I have bought several maternity tops, but most of them still look way too big. Still haven’t made the transition to maternity pants even though the bella band aggravates me sometimes. It’s the worst with my work pants, it constantly rolls down. I need to just suck it up and make the switch. Stretch Marks? None have appeared yet, still using the Palmer’s and Bio Oil a few times a week. Movement? Same. It’s so crazy how hard my belly gets at night, it is like she is all knotted up in one place. And the BELLY gets insanely BIG at night! Sleep? Eh…it’s been okay lately. I toss and turn a bunch. Food Cravings? Nothing crazy yet. I have been eating lots of peanu...
