The Friday Five.

1.  I've been to the SC State Fair TWICE this week.  Ouch.  You know what that means?  TOOOOO MANY CALORIES CONSUMED.  ehhhh...what the hell!?!  Mikey and I took Collins on her first trip on Sunday afternoon/evening.   We mainly just walked around and had dinner and people watched.  Mikey and I love to do this.  A lot of people don't like the fair, but I totally LOVE it.  There is something so nostalgic about it for me, yes...even amongst the dirt, grime, grease, and 99% white t/redneck trash that you encounter.  I especially LOVE it at night. On Sunday, we left before it got dark...but Collins did get to participate in her FIRST fair ride ever.  She rode the carousel and had a BALL.  She was cracking up.  That'll be a whole other post for another day once I download all the pics.  Then, last night...my mom and I took Collins one more time.  My mom is where I get my love of the fair...and pronto pups (the best corndogs EVER, and for the record probably the ONLY time I eat a corndog all year) and fiske fries.  My dad couldn't go and Mikey had already left for Charleston...so it was just us girls.  This time, we were there at night time and little Colls LOVED all the lights and people.  Seriously.  She just kept giggling to herself the whole time.  AND Lolly took her on the carousel again.  Good times and good food, what else can you ask for?!?

2. We have a wedding in Charleston this weekend that Mikey is in.  I am super excited for a weekend in one of our favorite cities...but sad to have to leave little boo behind.  It just didn't make sense to bring her with us and try and find a babysitter, etc.  Thankful my mom is keeping her and we are waking up EARLY Sunday morning to come home and spend the day with her.

3. Pretty sad about my gamecocks losing such a close one in LSU this past weekend, and NOW...the biggest game of the season is this coming weekend AT Florida.  HATE IT.  Playing away is HARD for everyone I think, but especially in the SEC.  The fans can make such a huge difference.

4. I can't believe it is about to be Halloween.  We have TWO parties to attend and a night of trick or treating.  I've ordered Collins' costume, but Mikey and I have to decide on something for ourselves for the adult party.  I am so NOT creative.  Blah.

5. My bedroom is getting closer and closer to completion.  YAY!  I've got someone making two king shams now..and then I just need two 20x20's and a bolster pillow and the bedding will be done!  I've got my drapes hung...now for just a few more accessories and a chair and it will be DONE.  Or at least until it is time to invest in new furniture:)

My fabrics.

1. Duralee aqua: euros and bed skirt

 2. Braemore gazebo cloud.  King shams.
This is what I have to find something new of.  My SIL (the fab interior designer) found me a bunch of fabrics to choose from...but unfortunately this GORGEOUS one (Shumacher) is over $60/yard, even at her cost.  Yeah...not so much.  So I'm still searching for something to take it's place.  But, this will be the bolster pillow and a pillow for the chair.  The colors look off on the screen, but they look awesome together in person....at least in my opinion:)  I am doing the two 20x20 pillows in plain white linen-y fabric with a aqua monogram.  I cannot wait for it to all come together!
Have a good weekend!  xoxo.

  1. I am the same way about the fair, love it! I like your fabric choices too! What about Braemore Secret Garden in chartreuse to replace the budget-eater? They have it at fabric.com. I almost used it in my guest room but decided to go gray instead.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
