My go to sites.

Every morning, when i sit down at my desk I surf the web...shame I know, but it's a habit I like. First things first, I catch up on work e-mail and make sure there is nothing pressing that needs to be dealt with. After that, I check the same sites day after day....at least in the first hour of being at work: 1. www.hotmail.com: My friends and i are e-mail fanatics, sometimes there are 50 some odd e-mails circulated in one day. I love it...except when I'm traveling and then it stresses me out if i can't answer or give my opinion on something! 2. www.thestate.com: skim any local news stories that appeal to me 3. www.facebook.com: self explanatory 4. www.foxnews.com: this is where I get all of my national news. 5. www.blogspot.com: catch up on as many blogs as I have time for...I check this throughout the day, whenever I need a five minute breather. The blogs I read run the gamut from fashion, to babies (as in friends who have them~ my "mommy" blogs so to spea

always plannin.

During the summer months (May-August) there are 18 weekends. We were out of town for 12 of them, 12! When we were in town, I had to fill our time with some big event, sometimes it was a wedding...or we would plan a big lake day with lots of friends. I C.A.N.N.O.T. not have things planned. I take one look at my calendar for the next few months and BAM, just like that I am thinking of places to go, parties to host, or things to do. I love being busy, we both love hanging out with our friends and family...but it sure does make time fly by. Of course, I love and need my lazy Sundays every now and then...but otherwise we love to constantly be on the go. Let's take fall for example, we really aren't going that many places, Charleston a few times for weddings and football, and a super fun Chicago trip for my birthday; but other than that we are home a good bit so we can go to Carolina football games. I was looking yesterday, and realized we have two open weekends this fall wit

No throwback, i did nothing apparently

I can't figure out for the life of me what I did this time last year....I have been thru all my pictures and cannot make sense of it! What a crime. Apparently, I did nothing. Who knows. I highly doubt that....because we don't EVER do nothing , why can't I remember....oh well. So, I am about half way through Eat Pray Love, and I have to say I really like the book...however I am SO over the "liberal" political tone. You don't like George W., we get it....now move on. I didn't choose to read this book to read about your hatred for him, so stop. I think last night as I was reading...he or our nation were mentioned three times in a row, and not in a good way. I was a little annoyed. I watched The Last Song last night, I wasn't' expecting much...and it didn't deliver much so I wasn't that disappointed. Why is The Notebook one of the only movies that actually comes close to being as good as the book. I also watched the Kite Runner recent

Random Musings for this wednesday

I've been MIA. I have felt like shit the past few days...who gets a head cold in August when it is freakin 100 degrees outside? This girl. That's who. I have big plans this weekend and this junk best be long gone by then. We had a very nice weekend in Jax, got some much needed beach and relaxation time. We were supposed to go to the Jags/Dolphins game but it POURED around game time and we never wanted to leave the house. The game ended up not starting for almost two hours, so that kinda sucked. We just ended up staying in and watching When In Rome....save yourself the time. We had to pick a "kid friendly" movie that everyone would enjoy, well...that's hard. Anyways, it was okay....pretty silly actually. I'm SO excited to buy some things with my GAP friends and family this weekend....these are a few of the items in my shopping bag: Nine West over the knee boots, this has been such a hard search for me. I want over the knee, but I swear 90% of the cut

Throw Back

One more day till the weekend! We've had a pretty low key week around casa de glenn. I've been trucking along with Mad Men Season 2 via Netflix, and I have to admit, still not sure I see the big fuss. I mean I like it and all, don't get me wrong...but good golly, how many affairs can you watch take place over and over. Gets kinda old. I keep hearing people say it gets sooo much better in the second season, but not quite sure I agree yet. I am happy to say we will be having Dexter Season 1 delivered next...now that is a show I think will keep me entertained. I have heard over and over and over how obsessed you become with it, let the obsession begin! We are heading to Jacksonville tomorrow to visit Mikey's sister and family, looking forward to spending a day on the beach with my precious niece and nephew. *so sad my beach days are dwindling* We are going to the Jacksonville Jaguars football game Saturday night...Mikey's brother in law works at the stadium a

Dear Daydreams...

I wish you would go away, kinda. Picture this: So, I am off to court for a hearing just a riding my happy self along....next thing I know 20 minutes have passed on the interstate and I have successfully: -suddenly met some attorney who has the perfect new job for me....doing something i love, better pay, and even the option to work from home when those things called babies come around -suddenly won the lottery, in five minutes I will have spent millions on houses, cars, charities, family, clothes, bags, oh my! -been given a raise and/or bonus out of the blue for all my hard work, or had my boss say, gee... i think i will help you pay off your student loans today, you deserve it! So, you get my drift? Everyone daydreams right? I don't really understand daydreams, this is what ole' wikipedia has to say about them: A daydream is a visionary fantasy , especially one of happy, pleasant thoughts, hopes or ambitions, imagined as coming to pass, and experienced while awake. Eat. Pray. Love

So, I did a post like this a while back...but since the movie is coming out and the book/movie duo is so popular now, I figured I could do a few more! I started the book a while back, but I just could NOT get thru it. That is NOT like me. I LOVE to read, what is going on? I have been told by many people that it takes a while to get thru, so I am ready to give it another shot. I hate going to see a movie that is based on a book without having read the book first. Hope the movie lives up to the hype.... EAT. So, tonight we are heading to Charleston for the weekend. We are meeting up with friends for dinner on Isle of Palms and I sweetly/forced down their throat the suggestion of going back to Huck's Lowcountry Table , where I had just been two weeks ago, but it is that good I tell ya! I was craving those dang SHRIMP hush puppies again...aaahhh, mouth is already watering just thinking about them. So, the next time you make it to Charleston, do head on over to IOP and visit

Throw Back Thursday

Last year, this weekend we were heading down to Jacksonville to visit this cute family.... Who had just added this sweet boy to the group=) Mikey's sister was pregnant during our wedding, and therefore couldn't be in it which made us really sad...but we were very excited that she was able to make it at all. Her due date was literally like two days after the wedding or something crazy...we would pray that she would go early, and then we prayed that he would stay in for a while. Little Liam decided not to make an entrance till June 22...a full week and 2 days after the wedding, but whew...what a time that was! They live in Jacksonville, so taking the trip to Beaufort was sort of risky for our wedding weekend...but she wouldn't have missed it for the world, so luckily Liam played along. We were so excited to finally go meet this precious little boy, I think as much as Mikey loves his nieces, he was ready for a boy! We had a nice, relaxing weekend in Jacksonville and enjoye

Things on my mind Tuesday.

1. The ass clown, also known as Levi Johnston. America...I beg you, PLEASE do not watch a reality show that follows his "celeb-worthy life." PLEASE. When on earth are we going to stop giving people like this attention and enabling the stupidity that it produces. Enough is enough. I'm not a big reality show person anyways...but I am SICK and tired of every joe blow getting a reality show...come on America, don't you remember what good TV is? 2. Summer is almost over, and it makes me want to cry. I keep reading how everyone is so ready for fall, boots...cardis....leggings....oh my! Well, I don't belong on that bandwagon, see...I love summer and everything about it; okay, not EVERYTHING...I freaking hate to sweat, which I do a lot, but whatevs. We are traveling the next four weekends: Charleston, Jacksonville, and Beaufort twice, hopefully I will get my final taste of summer to tide me over till next year. I fully intend to go to the beach each weekend in

It doesn't come for free...

Well why the HELL not Jillian!?! I swear, if I have to hear that phrase one more time....well, I guess I better get over it cause I will. As I was doing my Jillian Michaels cardio blast yesterday I started thinking about this, she says "it doesn't come for free" you gotta work at it, etc. quite often throughout the killer workout. WHY doesn't it come for free? WHY must I sweat my tail off, and eat super strict if I want to lose weight. Oh and let me go ahead and tell ya, I'm about to turn all whiny and bitchy here for a minute...tune out if you must. Seriously though, I just wanna be lazy and eat whatever the hell I want and stay skinny...is that really too much to ask? Ha! Yeah, don't worry...I've known for about 10 years that it is. Let me go ahead and point out that I realize skinny girls may not be smart, and pretty girls may not have "inner beauty," etc. BUT, it is so unfair how some people can not really worry about working out/wha

Throw Back and some new kicks!

Our local boutique that carries Tory Burch is having a MEGA sale...I scored these two pairs of shoes for 90% off!! Yipppeeee=) Happy girl. I got these in red...something different! Once again, I am doing two weeks together on my throw back...this blogging stuff can be time consuming and I have not had a lot lately! *Which I am thankful for because the day always goes by so much faster when I am slammed busy* July 23...one of my favorite persons ever has a birthday=) Last year, we all gathered at her boyfriend's house on Lake Wateree to celebrate, and celebrate we did! It was a super fun day filled with floating in the lake for hours....and playing for survivor style flip cup for hours. If you have never played flip cup "survivor style" WARNING: do not start now. It is ADDICTIVE. It is very competitive, but oh lawdy....you will be feelin it for real the next day. Every time your side loses you have to "vote" someone off the island until it could be 1 pe

Dorothea Benton Frank bar crawl

All of us are pretty big DBF fans...I have read all of her books, I love quite a few....Plantation, Shem Creek, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms...some of her newest ones aren't as good, but they are still great beach reads! Mikey and I go to Sullivan's Island/Isle of Palms area a good bit because we have friends that live in Mt. Pleasant, we love to go to the beach at Sullivan's and then to all the bars there afterward. As I mentioned previously, this past weekend was my Aunt's Birthday celebration and the women in the family (minus one Aunt who couldn't make it!) headed to Isle of Palms for the weekend for a girls get away. We thought it would be fun to go to the places that DBF talks about in so many of her books. Mikey just thought this was quite comical and dubbed our trip the DBF bar crawl. Yeah, we were being major tourists, but who cares! It was fun. This is all of us at Atlanticville , where the main character of "Lowcountry Summer" w
