Christmas eve is a busy, family filled day for us. We began a tradition of getting together for brunch with my immediate family a few years back and we really enjoy that. We’ve always celebrated Christmas Eve with my mom’s family, my grandfather is still living and it has ALWAYS been his family’s time to celebrate Christmas together with steak and potatoes:-) We used to try and open our gifts from the immediate family before that, but it was too hectic, so we switched to a brunch. The kids were able to play outside a while after opening presents, which is always good to get some energy out! I love the pictures of them running outside to see the “big” gifts from my parents…each set of kids got HUGE trampolines, and they were pumped!
After naps, we headed to Christmas eve service at church, and this year Collins came with us, which was so special. It is absolutely my favorite service of the year. After church, we headed to my grandparents’ house for a night of fun with my extended family! We do a “white elephant” type gift process between all the adults which is always entertaining. I always bring the kids pajamas so they are ready for BED by the time we get home, which is usually pretty late. Of course, after we spread our “reindeer food” out on yard and put out cookies and milk! And then it’s time for Santa!
