Easter weekend

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend, and I hope that you all did too!  Our weather wasn’t the greatest…kinda gloomy and blah, but we made the best of it.  Weezie  (our kids caretaker) was off Friday, so Mikey took the day off to keep the kids.   After running a few errands he picked up lunch and I met him at a park for a picnic and to let the kids play for a bit before nap time.  I think they enjoyed itJ  We had no plans Friday night and did our usual week night routine…but Mikey and I did stay up later than a normal “weeknight” and watched The Big Short,  I give it an A.  They took a very dry/boring topic and made it interesting and funny…of course it isn’t funny what happened due to the complexities of mortgage banking…but the movie ended up being pretty funny.

We ran a few errands Saturday morning and got some new plants and flowers for the house and played with the kids.  After naps, we had a few friends over for a cook out, and all the kids had a blast.  We kept things pretty tame and everyone was gone by 11 since we all had big mornings the next day with Easter!

The Easter bunny paid us a visit; of course the boys are clueless and were just excited about their new chairs/bubble machine and CHOCOLATE!  Collins was equally as excited, but is starting to understand why we celebrate Easter.  Her preschool did a wonderful job teaching them and they made the cutest “resurrection eggs” which is a good way to tie in the REAL meaning of Easter and the Easter egg.  We did church and lunch with my parents and Mikey’s mom…we ended up going to Bonefish because my mom didn’t feel like cooking and having leftovers, I don’t blame her!  It started raining after we finished lunch and didn’t stop.  We spent the rest of the day being lazy…naps, jammies, and cuddles.  It was a good way to end the weekend;-)

  1. I love the outfits Thomas and Graham have on for Easter. I hope you don't mind my asking, but where did you buy them? I'm searching everything for baby & toddler boy clothes for my nephew that are old-fashioned looking (I hate trendy looking baby clothes) but I'm having a hard time finding things that I like.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
