Things I will miss about pregnancy:
…………….
…………….
…………….
Kidding (sort of).
I am forever grateful to be able to have two pregnancies and carry THREE babies. However, I’m not going to sugar coat it, I don’t love being pregnant. First go round…it really was a breeze until around 30 weeks. And then, it wasn’t too horrible until about 33/34 weeks…when I got UNCOMFORTABLE and had tons of back pain. But, with the first pregnancy…I seemed much more “in limbo” during those 9 months. It’s a hard feeling to describe, but I just kind of felt like I was in a holding pattern until baby came and I didn’t love that. This go round…I don’t feel that as much, but the pressure/back pain and soreness that I already feel make up for it. Most of the time, I still feel great…but day by day I get sore(er), feel more pressure and my back hurts a bit longer. All of this is normal for a second pregnancy, especially with twins. It just terrifies me. I pray my body can handle this until June/July.
So, yeah….ummm…back to what I’ll miss about being pregnant:
1. Obviously that FIRST time you see two pink lines. Your world is changed.
2. The tightening feeling in your tummy at the beginning. Mine would always get so hard, always lopsided…especially late at night or early morning.
3. THE FIRST FLUTTERS. I started feeling the boys move around 18 weeks and now feel them ALL the time. I LOVE it. Probably won’t love it when it hurts down the road…but for now it’s all good.
4. The babies are all yours for 9 months. That’s pretty cool. And important. A big job for a soon to be mom.
5. Delivery day. Knowing YOU did this and your baby is coming out of YOU. How incredible.
6. The incredible amount of love you instantly feel for the baby(ies) growing in your belly… it’s insane how quickly it happens.
What I will NOT miss about being pregnant:
1. Heartburn
2. Back pain…oh the back pain. It’s crazy to me how some women never have any back pain and some (like me) have it awful. I used heating pads the last few weeks with Collins and I’m sure I’ll be busting that thing out earlier this go round. (already did)
3. Pressure/soreness: again, didn’t feel this till way later with Collins, but this time? OUCH. Sometimes it hurts just moving positions when I sleep. I know, it’s nuts.
4. Not being able to do/eat/drink what you want. Your body isn’t just yours.
5. Maternity clothes. Blah, I am not a fan of having to spend money on maternity clothes.
6. Your body does lots of weird/crazy stuff. Lots. It’s cool but also ummm…not cool at times?
Regardless, I'm extremely thankful to be carrying two baby boys!!
Xoxo
You're doing great, little mama!
