The Glenn twins.......

I guess it’s time to make the boys names official.  Lordy, what a process this has been.  You think naming ONE baby at a time is hard?  Sheesh.  Try two.

Here’s how it all went down.  Mikey’s middle name is Thomas, after his maternal grandfather, who is still alive.  We had always said we would use Thomas as a middle name if we had a boy one day.  I never really thought I liked it enough for a first name….so a middle name it was.  But, then….when we found out we were having TWO boys, and I wanted to use some of my family’s names in there as well…..  well, then…Thomas started sounding better as a first name.  Really, there was just nothing I ever thought of that I liked better….and there were NO other family names that we liked as first names…..

So one of the GLENN TWINS IS………………..

THOMAS PUTNAM

        TPG

Putnam is my mom’s maiden name and my grandfather is still alive as well.  It was really important to me to have that side of the family represented (as my dad’s dads’ (woah, probably not the right grammar there.) family was used in Collins’ middle name, Richardson.)  My mom’s dad is Willie Frank Putnam.  Willie is his true first name…so yeah…we weren’t really wild about either of those, so Putnam it is…and besides Putnam is the name I the most sentiment with.

And on with the second…….  If you are following all of that:  all of the kids obviously have Mikey’s dad’s family  name (Glenn, duh…our last name)….  Collins’ middle name is Richardson (my maiden name/my dad’s father’s family)…..and now one of the boys has Mikey’s mom’s side of the family represented with Thomas (Thomas is Mikey’s maternal grandfather) and my maternal grandfather represented with Putnam.

GLENN TWIN NUMBER 2 IS……………….

GRAHAM MALONE

        GMG

So, Graham is the only name out of the four that is NOT a family name, but we both really liked it, so Graham it is.  And besides, there were NO other family names that pleased us to use as first names.  Malone is my fraternal grandmother’s dad’s middle name……..got all that?  In other words, my dad’s grandfather was Lewis Malone…. And we like it. My maternal grandmothers maiden name was Ayer and while I like that there are already several people in the family with Ayer as a middle name, so we went with Malone.   I think we have most family names represented except for my maternal grandmother’s and Mikey’s fraternal grandmother and maternal grandmother…but we did our best:-)

So, Graham and Thomas it is.  Finally.  We are DONE.  And we both like them.  Glad to have that saga over with……naming babies is a serious job!

  1. Such great names! I love good ol' Southern names... Names that a boy can grow into, you know? So many boy names now a days I just picture them being grown men with real, corporate jobs and think of how silly that -lee name is going to look on a CEO's desk. (Maybe that's bad, but it's what I think!)

  3. You did a great job! I remember you telling me how hard it was to name Collins when so many family names had already been snapped up. You have done a great job with all three!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
