The Friday Five.

1.       So, it’s been FREEZING here in Cola this week.  Seriously, y’all.  We aren’t used to this kinda weather this early in the season around here.  RECORD low 23 degrees yesterday morning, ouch.  AND we got snow flurries/wintery mix one night, CAAARAAAZY.  So that means we’ve been eating lots of yummy chili and soups this week and relaxing by the fire at night.  YIPPPEEEE.  It ALWAYS gets cold early to mid-February (just not this cold) and then I swear by the time Thanksgiving rolls around it will be like SEVENTY.  UGH.  Although summer is my jam, I’ve said it before…I like it to be COLD (or at least chilly) during the holidays….we shall see. GAME forecast for Saturday is 70.  I rest my case.

2.       We took Collins to Edventure for the first time on Tuesday night and we had such a good time.  Edventure is seriously the COOLEST place for kids.  It is pretty expensive…so we went on family night and it was only ONE DOLLAR admission.  Can’t beat that.  We may look into getting a membership once she turns two …. Best rainy day entertainment for sure.

3.       We are in the midst of planning a HUGE 60th birthday bash for my AWESOME daddy and it is going to be SO much fun.  Since our family is a “house divided” (my dad and brother are Clemson fans and my mama and I are GAMECOCKS) that is the theme for the party…and since it is THE night before the big game.  We are doing an oyster roast and having lots of other yummy foods.  Should be a grand old time…the ladies met last night to plan decorations and we have deemed it a “redneck rodeo.”  I mean…let’s be honest…my daddy is NOT fancy and would NEVER want a fancy party.  This is going to be casual, laid back and country.  Just the way he wants it.  But, that doesn’t mean us ladies can’t try and pretty it up a little bitJ  Lanterns, burlap, twigs, bales of hay…all things in the works.  I CANNOT wait.

4.       Fall TV has been taking up my nights lately.  It is nice to just lay on the couch, ipad in hand, snuggling with husband ;) and watch TV for a couple of hours.  Our absolute FAVORITES right now are Scandal (which OMG if you watched last night) and The Blacklist.  My other musts are Parenthood and I still watch Grey’s and Revenge.  I know there are so many other good ones…but I can only handle so many at onceJ

5.       We have a super fun weekend ahead.  NO plans tonight…we will probably rent a movie and RELAX so that we can be completely prepared for our BIG gameday.  Sadly, we have only been to ONE home game this year, we tailgated for a bit at one, but didn’t stay for game…so that doesn’t really count.  We have only had ONE awesome tailgate this year which is SO rare, but obviously that’s what happens when you have little ones!  Anyways, we are excited about a fun day spending time with our friends.  AND THEN, Sunday morning…bright and early I have to get up and prepare to SHOWER my best friend and her little angel baby, Piper!  It’s going to be so fun…and I can’t wait to see all my friends!

xoxo

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
