The Friday five.

Jumping back on the link up bandwagon :-)

1.I posted this picture to instagram the other night, as kind of a joke.  But, you all know how many articles/blog posts have been written about the “perfectness” of everyone’s life via social media.  And it is so true, who wants to post pictures of yourself doing the dishes or having a fight with your husband?  Clearly NO ONE…which is why social media is (for the most part) ALL HAPPY and RAINBOWS and BUTTERFLIES ALL THE TIME.  Collins is generally still a good baby…but she has, without a doubt, entered “toddlerhood” or also known as “Collins wants to do what SHE wants to do and WHEN SHE wants to do it.”  Obviously, we don’t let her do this all the time…but it’s kinda cute/funny/scary how she’s getting her own little (stubborn) personality.  This was the other night when she just wasn’t having me not holding her…of course I can’t hold her all the time, but of course I want to hold her and love on her as much as possible at nights, but I can’t let her “win” all the time or she will become a spoiled little girl, right?? Ha! Anyways, she definitely wanted “mama” to “up.”

2.  Without a doubt, I am SICK AND TIRED OF THE RAIN.  I realize it isn’t doing this all over the county, but here in the south we have seen entirely too much rain lately.  I’m used to afternoon summer showers…but this is just ridiculous.  It has rained almost every day for the past two months, and I’m talkin’ thunderstorm type rain.  OVER IT.  It especially pisses me off when it comes on the weekend.  Like it’s supposed to this weekend….RAWR.

3. Mikey and I are having date night tonight and I am pretty stoked.  A good dinner with drinks and The Great Gatsby (finally!).  We don’t have to leave until 7:30 or so and Mikey’s mama is coming up to keep Collins so I’m excited as I love when I get to have nights out and it doesn’t really affect too much time with my girl.

4. LOTS of big changes are coming around the Glenn casa in the next couple of months.  Our sectional is set to be delivered at the end of the month (woohoo!), my chair is finished getting reupholstered, I ordered SIX custom pillows off of Etsy for the new sectional out of two of my new fabrics, we bought a new fan (finally!) for the living room…I absolutely HATE the one in there now,  we will be building the new deck next weekend and the weeks after that, installing a fence sometime soon, and adding a little bit of new outdoor furniture for the deck.  I’m starting to really knock some things off my NEVER ending, SUPER long to do list!  YAY to that!

5.Some of my besties and I just booked our FLIGHTS to go to MIAMI in October for a bachelorette bash!  I am stoked.  I’ve never been to Miami/South Beach, and although I am sure the experience won’t be what it would for a single 20 - something (and I wouldn’t want to experience that at this point) I know without a doubt we will have a blast.  My time at Atlantis definitely proved I can still hang…although for the Miami trip I will be recently THIRTY…YUCK.

Cheers to the weekend, friends!

xoxo

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
