Best week of summer or another post with a zillion photos.

Saturday, August 18 began our week long summer vacation. We had gone to the beach and/or Beaufort several times this summer but hadn't had the opportunity to go for a whole week until then. IT. WAS. GLORIOUS. We began the "week" at home. We didn't actually leave for vacation until Sunday...but we made that Saturday vacation as well...by taking advantage of my mom offering to babysit, we enjoyed a lake day with some friends and then came back and took Collins to the pool and cooked out with friends. We've been so busy with house stuff or other obligations it's hard to remember to take some time and just enjoy our new surroundings. So, that's what we did that day. Enjoyed the heck out of the lake and pool ALL DAY LONG.

Then, Sunday came and it was time to head to Beaufort. I could not have been more excited to have the week to spend with JUST MY GIRL AND HER DADDY. It was heaven. Was the weather great? NOPE. Did I care? NOPE. A year ago, it would have driven me NUTS that it wasn't sunny every day...but this year that was my least concern. Yeah, it would have been nice to get a little more sun...but what was even nicer? Sleeping in...spending ALL day long with our girl...napping when she napped...the little things in life you tend to miss out on during the normal go,go,go of our busy schedules. We took a day trip to Charleston, we went to the park, the beach, and the pool; but most of all we just enjoyed loving on Collins every day, all day.

Riding around downtown Beaufort.
First time seeing daddy's school.
Beach bum.  (Side note, I'm really irritated about that AWFUL ugly Clemson cooler being in all of our pictures...we forgot our cooler and had to use what was at the house.  Crazy Clemson family members!)
Playing in the water.
Tasting the sand.
First time sitting in the big highchair.  This was my dad and  his siblings high chair from growing up, we now keep at Beaufort.
Lunch date at daddy's FAVORITE place in the world.  MOE's in Charleston, and no...not "welcome to moe's" Moe's.
Pool day Saturday at our neighborhood pool.
Swinging in the park.
Right before she started crawling.  Practicing.
Happy little girl.
Pool day.
Dinner on the water.
She looks so grown up here!
:)
Loves her toys.
But, that's not where the BEST week of summer ends.  Friday afternoon, my parents arrived in Beaufort (to keep our munchkin) and Mikey and I headed off on our separate ways...he to "boys weekend/fantasy football draft party" and me to girls beach weekend.  If that's not the best of both worlds, I don't know what is!  A full week with my loves and then a weekend of AMAZING girl time.

All of us girls gathered at a friends beach house in Garden City for the weekend and it was quite simply, the best girls weekend EVER.  I don't know why, it just was.  Maybe because we are all getting a little older now and there was ZERO drama (you know how 20 something girls can be when you are together for a whole weekend and there is alcohol involved...or is that only my group of friends?!?) or the fact that we literally LAUGHED until we CRIED.  As you can see from the pictures (the only ones we took ALL weekend!) it was LAID back and casual.  We had no agenda, no plans, no nothing.  It was absolutely perfect.  *and it was absolutely beautiful all day Saturday so I did end up getting sun, yay!*

So, therefore...it really was the BEST week of summer.

I want a re-do.  Screw all this pumpkin love crap...I LOVE SUMMER.

xoxo.

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
