Inspiration for our next home.

So, of course I have started (well I have been LOOKING for a while) REALLY thinking about/looking at how I want to style/decorate/design our next home. I will definitely re-use all of the furniture we currently have and will of course have to BUY lots more as the house we want is almost twice as big. YAY! *Yes, Mikey..I know I will have to do this in stages...I'm not a millionaire, k..thanks* Anyways...moving on. I think I am going to use Passive Grey (SW) as the MAIN color in the house. This is the same color I painted Collins' nursery. I LOVE it. It is very light and airy looking...and if I don't use this EXACT grey, it will definitely be something similar...will have to consult my fab SIL who is an interior designer! The grey would be used in hallways, entry, living room, etc. Right now I am thinking of waterscape (my bedroom color now) for the kitchen, dining room and breakfast room...they all flow together. (Of course if we get this particular house that is. Again...if not that EXACT color, something similar. I'm loving anything in the blue/turquoise/aqua color family right now. I think those two colors will work very nicely together. I would still use waterscape in the master as well.

Here are a few images that are inspiring me right now...

The house has hardwoods throughout downstairs (except in the master, which I would LOVE to rip out the carpet and put hardwoods in there too..we will just have to see how the money flows:)!!) and the plan would be to stain them a dark, rich brown like in these pictures.  I am really digging DARK floors right now.

The kitchen currently has DARK maple cabinets and black/grey granite which I HATE.  Painting the cabinets is EASY PEASY...but my mom thinks I am nuts to buy a house to replace the granite...but I just HATE it.  Of course at the age of 28 I'm not quite/NEAR ready for marble countertops...but they make a quartz countertop (very similar to granite) that looks almost identical to carerra marble.  HMMMM...Ideally, I will have white cabinets/white/light colored countertops and DARK floors in the kitchen.

I DEFINITELY want a  piece of abstract art.  Of course I would L-O-V-E a Michelle Armas or Sallie King Benedict piece, but I'm pretty sure that's not in the budget.

I can't wait to see what all actually transpires...or hell, even if we end up with this house I have in mind!! SO, SO excited to decorate again!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
