Weekend Recaps.

Although I usually dread this time of year...these past couple of months have been really nice. We have done a LOT of relaxing, taken care of some house projects, traveled to Mexico and Beaufort, been "parents" for a weekend, and celebrated some good friends upcoming weddings.

Two weekends ago, Mikey and I (along with several others) threw an engagement party for our dear friends Shayne and Lindsey. *Shayne and Mikey have been friends since high school. Linds and I met in college, were in the same sorority and now she is one of my dearest friends. These two met when we all traveled to New Orleans/LSU for some Carolina football several years ago, and the rest is history:) We are so thrilled for them and cannot wait to celebrate their big day. I love when our worlds collide (i.e., Mikey's friend with my friend...now we are just one big happy family!)* Anyways, back to the point of the post. The party recap. The party was held at a restaurant/bar in downtown Columbia....we had the place to ourselves and it was really fun. Like...lots of fun. We all ended up at the bar afterwards dancing the night away...and then we all ended up at IHOP together, you know it's been a good night when that happens!

The boys from "D5" as they like to call it, our school district. as in where we went to high school, yeah...that was almost ten years ago, tear. ha. pretty silly huh. there are three high schools in the district and between these boys, someone went to each.
The ZTA girls:) Apparently there was a lot of picture taking going on, no one is looking at the camera, hopefully someone got a better one. And PS...goodness gracious i am pale! I think I get paler every winter...but seriously it's gross. I swore off the tanning bed a few years ago, maybe it's time for a spray? Ick.
The hosts of the party with the guests of honor...such a fun night!
And as you may know from my last post...we headed to Beaufort this past weekend. I cannot get over how beautiful it was down there....we're talking 80 degrees and sunny Saturday, I was actually hot. The boys got burned playing golf! I didn't really get any sun, but we did (like I was hoping) stay out on the dock for about 5 hours, it was glorious. (Except for the bugs, they were pretty annoying.) But seriously, dock sitting, friends, cocktails, sunshine, i-pod, magazines...the absolutely perfect Saturday in my mind. In surprising news....we took NO pictures of us. Really? Who are we? That may sound crazy, but when any of our friends get together, it is rare a camera isn't involved. But, it was one of those weekends...we didn't really get dressed up, there were no time schedules, no worries, and no problems:) It was just a good, relaxing, game playing, weekend with friends.

I did of course get some pictures of the beautiful scenery... love.

Obsessed with the way the sun is reflecting on the marsh, it kinda makes it look like there is snow on the ground.
Our view for the day. Heaven.
That's enough rambling for now....

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
