The Friday five : random thoughts

1.     My boys.  Y’all.  I seriously can’t with these two,  they are at that amazing age before tantrums and attitudes start, and are just the SWEETEST.  Of course, there’s times where they don’t listen and drive me bonkers…but, mostly…they melt me.  Their sweet little voices and hugs and kisses are the BEST.  Just last night we overheard the following convo through the monitor:  Graham was kinda whimpering for mama….(which is actually VEREY unusual when we put them to bed…G normally goes straight to sleep and T will talk to himself for 15-20 minutes)…but, last night G was crying out for me and …

T goes: “Gahm, you awright, Gahm?  You cwying for mama” ?

G:  “yeah toyas (how he says Thomas)” “I want mama”

T: “it’s okay Gahm…I cwied at pweeschool”

I mean for real?!  How stinkin’ cute.  They have really started to love each other and get annoyed with each other!  They are best friends, but so different.  They are definitely starting to fight over toys and stuff, but then they’ll turn around and hug and my heart can’t handle it.

2.     And don’t even get me started on Collins, I cannot get over how big/old she is now.  She’s totally starting to get annoyed with her brothers sometimes, but mostly, is still their biggest protector and LOVES on them hard.  She’s a whiny diva one minute and then the next is sweet as sugar.  This age isn’t my favorite as far as the whining, I’ve heard a lot of people have issues around the 3-5 age with that…so I’m ready for that to be over, but otherwise Collins is still the sweetest little girl and is finally coming out of her shy shell…  she’s learning new things every second at preschool and it’s amazing to watch. I’m so proud of her.

 3.     I think I’m almost done stocking up on fall/winter clothes for the kids.  Lordy mercy it takes time and money!  Mikey likes to politely remind me of that anytime I talk about wanting another baby! Ha!  For real though, kids are expensive.

4.     Speaking of having more babies, so many of my best friends are pregnant right now (or about to be).  It  makes it THAT much harder having baby fever.  Gonna be lots of new baby besties next spring and summer.  I can’t wait!

5.     We have lots of fun, fall activities planned for this weekend. High school football, pumpkin patch, BOO at the ZOO…just to name a few.  Looking forward to it!

What's in a name?

I tell ya, the name game is HARD. Really hard. I never thought that I'd be 27 years old and pregnant and not know what I wanted to name my child. I *think* we have come up with the one , but I'm not quite ready to put it out for the world to see...you know, don't want to many people rushing to get monogrammed bubbles. Ha! Jokes! Anyways...so I can look back and remember what all we went thru to come up with a name in 20 years I am going to lay it all out there. I'll start with saying I want a family name to be somewhere in my children's names. It doesn't have to be a first name, but some name in the child's name I want to be from a family member/family. We'll start with boys names, because they got taken off the table when we found out it was a GIRL..this will be short. Mikey's middle name is Thomas...his grandfather's name is Thomas. So...we always said Thomas would be in our son's name. I always thought it would be cool to do a Tho...

To my boys {almost two months late}

MY BOYS: A whole hand.   I can’t believe it.   The past five years have gone by at lightning speed!   You two silly, crazy, sweet, handsome boys celebrated FIVE like you do all other things- with genuine excitement and happiness in your hearts.   Y’all love life to the fullest and have the best imaginations- I could sit and listen to the two of you “play and talk” to each other ALL the live long day.   Y’all rarely fight, but when you do you make up within like 12 seconds, you boys are so different, but yet so the same.   You’ve both grown up in SO many ways and sometimes I have to blink to remind myself you are still my babies (because you are and always will be) but you both still have remnants of “babyhood” that I sure hope stays around a little longer.   It’s been a complete JOY to be your mama the past five years, as much as I want to keep you this AGE FOREVER, I know it’s not possible and am excited to watch you two grow and blossom in l...

25 weeks....yesterday!

Holy moly!!!! Baby Girl is doing some maaaayjah GROWING:) How far along? 25 weeks. Size of the baby? 13.5 inches and a pound and a half, grow baby girl, grow! Also known as an “average rutabaga”…um, okay. I’ll take Baby Center’s word for it. Maternity Clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe is shrinking! I have bought several maternity tops, but most of them still look way too big. Still haven’t made the transition to maternity pants even though the bella band aggravates me sometimes. It’s the worst with my work pants, it constantly rolls down. I need to just suck it up and make the switch. Stretch Marks? None have appeared yet, still using the Palmer’s and Bio Oil a few times a week. Movement? Same. It’s so crazy how hard my belly gets at night, it is like she is all knotted up in one place. And the BELLY gets insanely BIG at night! Sleep? Eh…it’s been okay lately. I toss and turn a bunch. Food Cravings? Nothing crazy yet. I have been eating lots of peanu...
