weekend rewind

Another semi lazy weekend in the books.  We are soaking up every last ounce of summer we can…of course summer doesn’t end anytime soon for us….we celebrate summer until we have to stop….September 22.  It’ll still be hot until then (if not longer) so there’s no point in trying to rush summer out the door.  (I’m looking at you, people who already want to talk about damn PSL and boots and scarves!!)  We had a lazy Friday night, but not without a bit of a scare/craziness from our wild man Thomas.  We were enjoying some time outside, watching the kids play in the “sandy beach” area at my in-laws…when Thomas started to wander.  Not abnormal for him…he started getting close to the dock and boat ramp so Mikey got up to get after him….and sure enough T started running when he saw Mikey headed his way…so Mikey had no choice but to run…and that little stinker ran all the way down the dock and jumped in the water FULLY CLOTHED and with NO LIFE JACKET ON!!!!  Talk about giving me a heart attack.  I knew Mikey was close enough behind that it would be okay…but good grief, that boy.  He sank too, in case you were wondering.  2 year olds are tough….we’ve given swimming lessons but it’s almost dangerous b/c they have no fear of the water but cannot swim alone!  I missed the boat on those “lifesaving lessons” you can give infants…and of course, Thomas came out of the water LAUGHING.  I almost wish he would have swallowed some water or something to at least scare him, but NOPE!  And THIS is why I have such anxiety!  I swear I am going to have to keep a puddle jumper on him at all times!  So anyways…after that debacle, we had the kids in bed by 8:30 and watched a movie.  A restful weekend night😊

We spent the day on the lake with friends Saturday, it was perfection.  Just swam off the dock/listened to music/and drank a few cold ones;-)  What more could you ask for on a summer Saturday?  We grilled out with everyone Saturday night and the kids had a ball slip-n-sliding and eating cupcakes!

Sunday morning was spent being lazy (we have GOT to get back into our church routine!)…and then my parents went on the boat with us for the afternoon and we hung out with some of their friends.  The kids had a ball playing on all of their big floats and we enjoyed the company.  I was asleep by 9:45 (!!!) on Sunday nightready to take on my VERY FIRST Barre 3 class bright and early Monday morning.  I still can’t walk…holy soreness but it felt good!!!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

What's in a name?

I tell ya, the name game is HARD. Really hard. I never thought that I'd be 27 years old and pregnant and not know what I wanted to name my child. I *think* we have come up with the one , but I'm not quite ready to put it out for the world to see...you know, don't want to many people rushing to get monogrammed bubbles. Ha! Jokes! Anyways...so I can look back and remember what all we went thru to come up with a name in 20 years I am going to lay it all out there. I'll start with saying I want a family name to be somewhere in my children's names. It doesn't have to be a first name, but some name in the child's name I want to be from a family member/family. We'll start with boys names, because they got taken off the table when we found out it was a GIRL..this will be short. Mikey's middle name is Thomas...his grandfather's name is Thomas. So...we always said Thomas would be in our son's name. I always thought it would be cool to do a Tho...

To my boys {almost two months late}

MY BOYS: A whole hand.   I can’t believe it.   The past five years have gone by at lightning speed!   You two silly, crazy, sweet, handsome boys celebrated FIVE like you do all other things- with genuine excitement and happiness in your hearts.   Y’all love life to the fullest and have the best imaginations- I could sit and listen to the two of you “play and talk” to each other ALL the live long day.   Y’all rarely fight, but when you do you make up within like 12 seconds, you boys are so different, but yet so the same.   You’ve both grown up in SO many ways and sometimes I have to blink to remind myself you are still my babies (because you are and always will be) but you both still have remnants of “babyhood” that I sure hope stays around a little longer.   It’s been a complete JOY to be your mama the past five years, as much as I want to keep you this AGE FOREVER, I know it’s not possible and am excited to watch you two grow and blossom in l...

25 weeks....yesterday!

Holy moly!!!! Baby Girl is doing some maaaayjah GROWING:) How far along? 25 weeks. Size of the baby? 13.5 inches and a pound and a half, grow baby girl, grow! Also known as an “average rutabaga”…um, okay. I’ll take Baby Center’s word for it. Maternity Clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe is shrinking! I have bought several maternity tops, but most of them still look way too big. Still haven’t made the transition to maternity pants even though the bella band aggravates me sometimes. It’s the worst with my work pants, it constantly rolls down. I need to just suck it up and make the switch. Stretch Marks? None have appeared yet, still using the Palmer’s and Bio Oil a few times a week. Movement? Same. It’s so crazy how hard my belly gets at night, it is like she is all knotted up in one place. And the BELLY gets insanely BIG at night! Sleep? Eh…it’s been okay lately. I toss and turn a bunch. Food Cravings? Nothing crazy yet. I have been eating lots of peanu...
