The Glenn twins: month 6

HALF A YEAR!!!!!!!  Do WHAT!?!!!  I want to cry…as challenging as twins babies can be….this is it…my last “babies”….how is it possible they are already SIX months old?  NOT FAIR.

My precious boys are doing GREAT.  We’ve got a good routine down and for the most part, they stick to it.  Not much has changed since the 5 month update on that front.  They still go down around 9 at night (I’m trying to work on getting them down earlier…but y’all, the whole nursing/bathing/getting them ready for bed routine takes FOREVER.  And I’m just not worrying about the fact that they should be going down earlier…oh well.  We put Collins to bed at 8:30 and then we have thirty minutes when it’s just us and the boys and I really enjoy those moments… big sister tends to monopolize lots of time when she’s awake;-)  Before I know it…we will be putting all three of them in the bath together and the boys won’t need a feeding before bed…so I’m just going with it for now….they are doing just fine!  And I will note…when I say they are sleeping from 9-7…well, they means Thomas, ha.  Thomas pretty much ALWAYS goes right down at 9 and doesn’t make a noise until 7 or 7:30….little G on the other hand….well, most nights we end up putting him in the rock and play somewhere between 2 and 5 am.  If I only had one baby…I would probably make him cry it out…but I can’t do that since Thomas is in the room…and plus we put him in the R and P and he goes right back to sleep and stays that way till  7 or 7:30.  Lately, he’s had a cough/cold/ear infection…so coughing wakes him a lot in the night and for some reason he does better soothing himself back to sleep in the rock and play…so I’m just letting it happen.  Getting up once a night to do that isn’t bad at all….so I’m not going to worry about it for now.

Graham still hasn’t rolled over yet…but he’s getting close.  Dr. W said at their 6 month checkup that Graham is probably a little behind (even for a preemie)…so even though he is 6 months, he’s really measured against a 5 month old…but obviously most 5 month olds can roll over.  BUT, the doc isn’t worried about it now…G is just so little still, the doc thinks he will catch up.  He’s finally starting to put weight on his legs, so hopefully he’ll come along fast.  He does sit pretty well in his bumpo and enjoys the jumper and exercauser.

Big T on the other hand….goodness!!  :-) He’s rolling and stands (assisted) like a champ…I think he’ll probably be sitting up on his own pretty soon.

My little munchkins are now THREE pounds apart…nuts!  I promise we feed G…he’s just bulimic!

Thomas:  16 lb 4 oz.  (19% weight)  (20% height)

Graham: 13 lb.  not on the chart yet for weight or height

We haven’t started any solids/cereal yet…guess we need to do that this weekend.  The doc had told us to wait until they were 6 months.  That will be interesting!  They are getting on a good routine and take two good naps a day and then cat nap some off and on.  They are so smiley and giggly for most of the day… we did have a good hour last night when THEY WOULDN’T STOP CRYING!  It happens ;-)  They babble lots and are starting to take an interest in toys and holding objects in their hands.

So, so in love with my little boys.  Here’s to another fantastic 6 months!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
