{our weekend... Ahem... 2 weekends ago!}

Always behind 'round these parts.

This past weekend ( December 8th) was filled with Christmas cheer!!  We started off Friday night by taking Collins back to PJ’s with Santa at the Holiday Market put on by the Junior League here in Columbia.  It is a great event…and maybe when Collins is 5 she won’t be TERRIFIED of Santa?!?  At least we gave it a shot…hehe.  Poor boo did NOT like Santa…I was even going to attempt to sit on his lap with her, but NO.  But yet, when we walked away…she said “bye bye, santa.”  WHAT?!  How does that work?  We still had fun though…ate some popcorn and watched a bit of the polar express, decorated sugar cookies, and played in the little gym area…it was a fun night to get in the holiday spirit!

Saturday was spent finishing up decorating the house for Christmas.  We are DONE.  And I LOVE it.  We went with a HUGE 12 foot tree this year and put it in our foyer.  It is MAGICAL.  We went this route because I would have had to remove furniture from the den to put the tree in there and I didn’t want to do that…BUT, even though I am OBSESSED with this huge tree…I am rethinking that decision.  It just doesn’t feel right to me not being able to see the tree in the den.  And Christmas morning?  There won’t be a tree where we open presents? Weird.  Now I am thinking I could have put the tree somewhere in the den that would have blocked a “traffic entry” but would have worked…we may do that next year, maybe we will just do TWO trees next year?  Anyways, our halls are DECKED and now we can just enjoy for the next few weeks!

Saturday night we all headed over to my parents’ house to watch football and celebrate my brother’s birthday.  It was a good night.   Collins absolutely LOVES being with her cousins!

Just a little bath time fun!

It was FAAAREEEEZING Sunday morning.  Yikes.  We went from 80 degrees on Friday to 40 on Sunday, typical South Carolina winter.  Collins and I went to lunch with my mom, aunts and cousins and then did a little shopping with my mama.  We came back home and enjoyed an evening in front of the fire (with some delicious chili.)  Is there a better way to spend a cold, winter night?   I think not:-)

I can’t believe Christmas will be here before we know it………..  better get to shopping!

xoxo

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou
