{our weekend}

Another laid back weekend in the books.  Time is just a FLYING by…I swear we were JUST celebrating Halloween yesterday.    We started out the weekend with supper club…and invited the kids this timeJ  So…it was a little more hectic than normal and we left by  9:45  but we still had a wonderful time with our friends.  I love our supper club b/c it is so laid back and easy.  I wish I would have taken some pictures…we had four little girls running around playing and one itty bitty baby girl….when oh when will we have more boys?!  Out of our supper club (9 couples and 9 kids) we only have TWO little boys.  Nuts.  It’s a girls world around our friends, for sure.    Saturday morning  we got up early to head out for some family pictures.  And LORDY mercy…my child will NOT smile when someone wants her to, does anyone else have this problem?  Drives me nuts.  She may have smiled in like 4 out of 400 pictures  on Saturday morning ….grrrrrrr.  I really hope we got at least one or two I can use for

The Friday Five: thanksgiving edition

The Friday Five: Thanksgiving edition.  Let’s be honest…I will NOT be posting next Friday…as this year we will be getting ready to have a throw down to celebrate my awesome daddy’s SIXTIETH birthday!!!  So, today’s edition of The Friday Five will focus on one of my favorite holidays.    1.       I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving.  For me, it is just so relaxing and “warm.”  *I obviously LOVE Christmas too, but Thanksgiving is just so easy.*  No holiday stress, no worry about getting all the gifts bought ( I do LOVE buying gifts for others, but you know what I mean…)…just a laid back holiday to enjoy your loved ones and take some time to be THANKFUL.  We all   could use some more of that in our life, right?   2.         Thanksgiving to me includes the following foods:  turkey, giblet gravy, dressing, sweet potato soufflé, rice and butter beans, mac and cheese, and maybe some green beans or a green bean casserole sometimes, squash casserole, strawberry “salad.”  SO LOTS OF CARBS.  YUMMM.  E

{our weekend}

This past weekend we finally got back out to another CAROLINA game and I couldn't have been happier. All of our friends came out too and we had a super fun day/night of tailgating. We are all that stage of life now where we are trying to choose a few games a year where everyone gets babysitters so we can enjoy ourselves!! Collins is definitely not at the age this year where taking her to a game would be easy. Carolina played like total crap and barely got a win, it was just so painful to watch. But, we pulled it out and got the W. whew!  Most of my favorite ladies in one place makes me extremely happy! Game time!  On Sunday we hosted a sweet baby shower for our best friend and her little girl who is due to arrive in February! We cannot wait to meet miss piper grace:-). Only pic I have right now was stolen from the momma to be's Instagram. Love these girls .  We spent lots of time Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon playing with our boo. New favorite thing is airplane with dad

How I do fall around the house.

I don't really go overboard by any means with my fall decorations...I just like to add enough "festiveness" to get in the spirit of the season.  I didn't buy anything new this year...(one day I'll stop spending all of my money on my child....) but till then, what I have will have to do:-)  Anyways, as evident by the below pictures this ain't no southern living spread, but regardless...it makes me happy. This is our breakfast room, so the table we eat at all the time.  I'm still debating whether I'll do a table setting on it during Christmas, but for now I wanted it simple.  So a few pumpkins and gourds was all it got. This is the console table in our foyer, I cannot WAIT to get some new buffet lamps (or maybe just ONE big statement lamp) and some frames to do a series of botanicals instead of the mirror...but that will all come in time.  For now I added some fun fall flair. And the dining room...this room is right as you walk into o

21 months.   WHERE oh WHERE does the time go?  I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that I’ve got to be thinking about planning a SECOND birthday party for my girl soon.  Major sads.  My girl has been FULL of herself lately and growing up right before my very eyes.  She is talking up a storm now a days… (I knew it would come…and it is so cute).  My newest favorite that she says is “love you” but of course it sounds like lu you…melt my heart.  Collins gives the BEST kisses these days and is still a mama’s girl through and through.  She’s been more obsessed with Mikey lately and always asks for him in the mornings…but when it comes down to it, she wants her mama.  I mean, who can blame her?  ;-)  (Kidding, husband.)  She’s pretty much your typical “almost two year old.”  HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY one second and crying the next.  Thankfully the tears never last long and we can generally figure out a way to redirect her attention if she’s upset about something.  She does hit sometimes and it

The Friday Five.

1.       So, it’s been FREEZING here in Cola this week.  Seriously, y’all.  We aren’t used to this kinda weather this early in the season around here.  RECORD low 23 degrees yesterday morning, ouch.  AND we got snow flurries/wintery mix one night, CAAARAAAZY.  So that means we’ve been eating lots of yummy chili and soups this week and relaxing by the fire at night.  YIPPPEEEE.  It ALWAYS gets cold early to mid-February (just not this cold) and then I swear by the time Thanksgiving rolls around it will be like SEVENTY.  UGH.  Although summer is my jam, I’ve said it before…I like it to be COLD (or at least chilly) during the holidays….we shall see. GAME forecast for Saturday is 70.  I rest my case.  2.       We took Collins to Edventure for the first time  on Tuesday night  and we had such a good time.  Edventure is seriously the COOLEST place for kids.  It is pretty expensive…so we went on family night and it was only ONE DOLLAR admission.  Can’t beat that.  We may look into gettin

{our weekend}

We had another fun filled fall weekend that was mostly low key and laid back. Summers are typically go go go for us and we tend to relax and chill out more in the fall and winter months. On Friday night we took C bug to monkey joes for the first time and to say she was obsessed is an understatement. The girl had a BALL. It helped that we ran into my niece and nephew there with their other grandparents and Belle was able to show Collins the ropes. Collins was NON stop the whole time we were there, her little face was red from sliding down on her tummy so much. Such fun and CHEAP entertainment. We were back home by 8 to eat chili and snuggle on the couch. Saturday brought about another lazy day at home. I took advantage of the time and did some deep cleaning projects around the house and watched football. We had four other families over for dinner Saturday night and it was CHAOTIC but so fun!! All the kiddos had a ball playing together.  I didn't take

{our weekend: last weekend}

I am always one step behind...sigh. Anywho...we didn't have a ton going on last weekend and it was perfect. Friday night was spent hanging out at a friend's house, low key and casual...Collins is loving seeing baby Kemper so much! On Saturday we ran errands, planted some pansies in the yard and got together some VERY last minute costumes for Mikey and I to wear to my brother and his wife's Halloween party. This is the second year they have hosted and it is too much fun, the kiddos have a ball! Little C looking a little confused... Like I said... very  last minute.  I was a witch (duh) and Mikey was an identity thief?!?  Kinda. Sweetest little ladybug there ever was.  I know...I'm biased. Hayride fun! Sunday brought church and more relaxation.  It is so nice to have days where you don't have much on the agenda and can CHILL out and enjoy life. We celebrated Mimi's birthday (Mikey's mom) Sunday afternoon and evening.  I would say it wa
