Random ramblings.

I used to always think that couples who were at a restaurant together and hardly talked must have the WORST relationship. So funny how things change. Mikey and I just went to lunch together today, and we talked NON stop. We both had lots going on, new things to share, etc. But, just last week we met for lunch one day, kinda last minute...and we both just read the paper most of the time and barely spoke. I mean we talked, but you know...more of a comfortable silence conversation. It makes me laugh to think I used to feel sorry for couples like that...there is something so wonderful knowing that I can go to lunch with my husband and feel 100% okay just being there with him. Sometimes there is nothing to be said, we just enjoy each others company.

I DO NOT GET the saying "little boys love their mommas." Duh. So do little girls. I think a lot of people just say this because it's a phrase so many people say without thinking about it. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does. It's like if someone announces they are having a boy...you get a million "awwww, little boys are the best" "little boys love their mommas". What about little girls?? They don't love their mommas?? Is it supposed to be some sort of "feel better" saying that you are having a boy and not a girl. I don't understand. The whole gender reveal thing to me has been made a little too big of a deal lately. I am SUPER EXCITED whether you are having a girl or boy, you are having a healthy baby and that's all that counts, right? I mean, now if you are going on your third child and if I know someone wants a specific sex...I can understand then , but for a first child? WHO CARES!! ALL babies are wonderful:)

I've now been to TWO high school reunions two weekends in a row. Now talking about making me feel old! We had lots of fun at both of them though, so that's what matters.

We finally have our WEEK long beach vacay nailed down. It was a little trickier this year with our work schedules, and I would have preferred to go in June (not quite as hot as July and August in SC)...August it is. We leave Friday August 19 and don't come home until Sunday August 28. WOOOOHOOO. We will be making a little tour of the SC coast. Enjoying time in Hilton Head, Beaufort, and Garden City. Lucky us! Now, pray that the weather is beautiful!!

GAMECOCK FOOTBALL is about to start back up, holy cow! We got our tickets and are ready for the first game that will take place in the Carolina Panthers stadium in Charlotte. Saturday, September 3, gonna be HOT and GLORIOUS. As much as I am excited about our upcoming football season, I am not one of these people who is ready for summer to be over. Sure, the 100+ degree days have been rough...but I love the summer and am sad it's coming to a close. Although football season is still plenty hot in SC for September anyways...once it begins, in my mind summer is officially "over." I am so glad we have one last beach trip planned to soak it all up!

Okay, that's enough for today!

  1. ugh, i HATE when people say that too! I don't get it. Like you said, girls don't love their mamas? Drives me nuts. Did you ever decide on a Lilly dress you'd like to order? Have you seen the new Fall styles? I'm ready and waiting whenever you are ready to place an order and hopefully being beginning of season we'll have MUCH better luck this time!

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h...

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one n...

Takeover Tuesday

Surprise Caro, guess who hacked into your blog! I know what you are saying to yourself...I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to mess with you on here. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, this obviously is not your sweet Caroline, this is her wonderful, sarcastic, fun loving, baby daddy (or is it babies’ daddy now?), also known as her husband. (Caro at her finest, throwing me a great 25th birthday celebration) Where do I begin…. I guess we can talk about how this marital bliss came to be before we talk about the author of this blog and how amazing she. Caroline has been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, we were actually first grade boyfriend and girlfriend if you can believe it. After first grade, there was the great divide, as both of us went to different schools the following year. Finally, after 10 agonizing, lonely years we were reunited at a house party our senior year in high school. I, naturally, had always kept an eye on her throughou...
