weekend recap

This weekend was lots of fun! We actually stayed HOME all weekend long and it felt wonderful. Friday night, we had a party to celebrate one of our friend's graduating law school.

All the boys

Some of the girls
Saturday during the day, I was supposed to lay out all day and get this pale body some much needed sun; but it was kinda overcast unfortunately. So instead, Mikey and I laid on the couch for four hours catching up on shows! It was pure heaven. We have "lazy Sundays" a lot, but never do we do that on Saturday...it was so nice to not have anything to do. We did decide to take the Millster on a walk before we had to get ready, and it was freaking HUMID!! Saturday night, we hosted a shower for our best friend's Haven and Tripp, the wedding day is quickly approaching! The shower was at The White Mule in downtown Columbia. We had an amazing one man band perform, Joal Rush was awesome and played all of our favorite songs! We even tried to get him to stay after the party, but he had to head to Charleston for a gig at 11:30!!

The beautiful bride to be and me!
The hostesses and the bride and groom!
Sunday, we slept LATE; again wonderful. Mikey had plans to play golf...so I went and met my mom and we did a little shopping. After that, we headed out to my parents house to watch this precious little munchkin and cook out!
One day, one day I will live here again...gahhhhh. Why can't I just switch houses with my parents during the summer!?!
It was a pretty wonderful weekend! Hope yours was as well.

To my boys {almost two months late}

MY BOYS: A whole hand.   I can’t believe it.   The past five years have gone by at lightning speed!   You two silly, crazy, sweet, handsome boys celebrated FIVE like you do all other things- with genuine excitement and happiness in your hearts.   Y’all love life to the fullest and have the best imaginations- I could sit and listen to the two of you “play and talk” to each other ALL the live long day.   Y’all rarely fight, but when you do you make up within like 12 seconds, you boys are so different, but yet so the same.   You’ve both grown up in SO many ways and sometimes I have to blink to remind myself you are still my babies (because you are and always will be) but you both still have remnants of “babyhood” that I sure hope stays around a little longer.   It’s been a complete JOY to be your mama the past five years, as much as I want to keep you this AGE FOREVER, I know it’s not possible and am excited to watch you two grow and blossom in l...

What's in a name?

I tell ya, the name game is HARD. Really hard. I never thought that I'd be 27 years old and pregnant and not know what I wanted to name my child. I *think* we have come up with the one , but I'm not quite ready to put it out for the world to see...you know, don't want to many people rushing to get monogrammed bubbles. Ha! Jokes! Anyways...so I can look back and remember what all we went thru to come up with a name in 20 years I am going to lay it all out there. I'll start with saying I want a family name to be somewhere in my children's names. It doesn't have to be a first name, but some name in the child's name I want to be from a family member/family. We'll start with boys names, because they got taken off the table when we found out it was a GIRL..this will be short. Mikey's middle name is Thomas...his grandfather's name is Thomas. So...we always said Thomas would be in our son's name. I always thought it would be cool to do a Tho...

25 weeks....yesterday!

Holy moly!!!! Baby Girl is doing some maaaayjah GROWING:) How far along? 25 weeks. Size of the baby? 13.5 inches and a pound and a half, grow baby girl, grow! Also known as an “average rutabaga”…um, okay. I’ll take Baby Center’s word for it. Maternity Clothes? Same as last week. My wardrobe is shrinking! I have bought several maternity tops, but most of them still look way too big. Still haven’t made the transition to maternity pants even though the bella band aggravates me sometimes. It’s the worst with my work pants, it constantly rolls down. I need to just suck it up and make the switch. Stretch Marks? None have appeared yet, still using the Palmer’s and Bio Oil a few times a week. Movement? Same. It’s so crazy how hard my belly gets at night, it is like she is all knotted up in one place. And the BELLY gets insanely BIG at night! Sleep? Eh…it’s been okay lately. I toss and turn a bunch. Food Cravings? Nothing crazy yet. I have been eating lots of peanu...
