the Boys' room

The boys’ room hasn’t changed much since we moved in.  I had pretty much bought everything for their room while pregnant and haven’t done much since.  Due to moving while pregnant, house hunting, renovating, etc.  I decided to go the pre made route for their room. SO much easier.  The bedding and curtains are all from Serena and Lily and it’s exactly what I wanted for their room.  Simple and sweet.  The glider got moved from Collins’ room and then we purchased two new cribs, and the dresser and bookshelf.  One day when we get in a bigger house (or maybe not bigger…but one with a bigger bedroom…;-)  ) I plan to add more to their room.  But, for now…and the fact that all they do is sleep in here…it’s perfect.  And a HUGE shout out to Mikey for painting the stripes, he did a FABULOUS job on them.    And now the before and after:

weekend rewind (and another wedding)

Another weekend, another wedding!  Seriously though, we just attended our third wedding weekend (both rehearsal and wedding) of 2016…and we have one more in two weeks! We aren’t used to that pace anymore… during the years 2009-2012, we probably went to 12-16 weddings a year, no joke!  It was cray and SO fun!  But, since then our wedding circuit has slowed majorly… obviously as baby showers and kids birthday parties now take up our weekends J   But, for some reason 2016 is the year of weddings again, and we have 6 so far this year!  Luckily for us, this one was in Beaufort so we made a family weekend out of it and stayed at our house down there.  Thankfully, my parents kept the kids both nights for us.  Such wonderful grandparents we have!  The rehearsal dinner and wedding were beautiful and FUN, FUN, FUN! Saturday (day) was spent getting the pool ready at our house and playing with the kids…the cousins had the best time together and absolutely LOV...

master bed and bath: before and after

I've been meaning to update the blog with pictures of our house.  I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel kinda stagnant in this house right now.  We don’t want to put any more money into it, and I don’t want to make many decorating/furniture choices based on it.  We know at most, we have a year left here…maybe less;-)  It just doesn’t make sense to buy furniture/curtains/etc. based off of the dimensions of this house and its spaces.  That being said, I am ready to get into a house I want to stay put for a while.     Anyways, I’ve got everything decently “done” in this house for now.  By saying that, I mean I’m done spending money on it and the rooms at least look presentable.  Of course, if we were going to stay here a while (or if money grew on trees) I’d put in new counters in our bathroom, switch out all of the brass, update the powder bath…new flooring upstairs…the list could go on and on.  But, I’m not doing that.  We can’...

the rest of our weekend

Yep, there's more. We weren't done on Saturday!  I hosted a sip and see for one of my dear friends and her new baby girl Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, rockstar dad took the kids to a birthday party... At a park. Woah! Two toddlers going in different directions! He was busy!  And then...after those events we headed to my brother's house for a family dinner! Whew! We were definitely pooped by 9 Sunday night. But, goodness what a good weekend. Girl time is so good. My bro and SIL have the best yard for play! The kids had a ball... And so did Granddaddy:-) Goin' to work on aunt Christies yummy dessert! My attempt at taking a pic of the boys, ha! Happy almost weekend!!!

wedding weekend rewind

Mikey’s brother got married this past Friday, which led to a FUN and BUSY couple of days of wedding events.  We kicked off the celebrations  Wednesday night  with a cookout at Mikey’s dad’s house.   My SIL’s family is from LA, so it was nice to get everyone together and have a casual hang out.  Thursday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner…Mikey, Collins and I were all in the wedding so it was a family affair:-) We took the boys to the rehearsal, which was kind of disastrous, thank goodness for two grandmothers who could help out.  They all had a blast at the rehearsal dinner though…they were so sweet playing and dancing together! I took the whole day off work Friday since the wedding was  at 4:30 .  So we got to sleep in and enjoy extra cuddle time before the chaos!  I took the kids to Weezie’s mid-morning so I could get my hair done… such a nice little relaxing break.  All of the girls met at the bride’s parent’s house to g...

weekend rewind

Mikey and I enjoyed a little date  night Friday  at Mr. Friendly’s …a fabulous local restaurant in Columbia. A couple hours just the two of us is necessary and so nice every once in a while.   Saturday was spent playing, and doing house chores, and I even snuck in a little nap;-)  We spent  Saturday night  cooking out with friends; love the warmer weather and staying outside ALL night!  Sunday was a repeat of Saturday: play time, house chores, laziness and loving on my babies.  It was good to have a low key weekend as we have THREE weddings out of the next FOUR weekends!  WOAH!  Can’t wait:-)

the Friday five

Finally Friday!! 1. I just got this new Kate Spade bag and I'm obsesed. I LOVE the color. I'd been carrying my black pippa for a while so I was needing some color. So fresh and pretty! 2. We had a girls night out Wendeday to see Frozen on ice. It was so good! Collins sang and danced during her faves! 3. My boys have been playing with each other so much more lately... And mostly it's the cutest thing EVER. Until one of them wants what the other has..... 4. Got the Fitbit flex. It's really damn hard to reach 10,000 steps on a work day when I sit at a desk so much. Got to get better about that.  5. Mikey and I have date night tonight:-) can't wait!! Otherwise our weekend will be filled with playing, relaxing, house chores and a low key cook out with friends Saturday. Can't wait! Cheers!
