The Friday Five

1. We finally got the boys toothbrushes, oops. They are obsessed!!  2. I cannot believe October is (almost) over. Ugh. Thankfully, we are just now really experiencing fall weather so November is gorgeous here usually. I did just book us tickets for the polar express and I cannot wait!!! We are going wkth my whole family November 29, I know the big kids will love it! And the boys will just be along for the ride!   We've got fun Halloween plans this weekend... Gotta wear those costumes as much as possible! Just wanted to share this pic. Hilarious!! 3. Christmas? I'm trying to start brainstorming ideas for the kids... So I can be on my game this year. It's so hard. I'm trying to think of a few big ticket items that they will love. Suggestions welcome :-) 4. We didn't start any new shows this fall.   We never have time for more than one show a night and I feel like we already had plenty. I really haven't heard of the new ones.... Anything good out there? 5. I got th...

BOO at the zoo.

Like I said... LOTS of fun activities going on in October. We went to BOO at the ZOO last night with a huge group. Trick or treating around the zoo and a "monster mash" dance party were the highlights of the night.  Such a fun tradition that I hope we always keep.  My besties and our babies.  Little Bo Peep found her sheep! Hard to get good pics of all the kids! ALL the kids.  The four oldest who have been going together for four years now! Happy Halloween!!

The SC state fair.

Mikey and I both are huge fair lovers. As redneck and "germy" as it is, i love it. The lights, smells, sounds... It's so fun. Collins LOVED it this year and wanted to ride everything in sight! The boys were able to ride the little boats by themselves and thought that was so cool!! October is like THE busiest month ever, but it's all fun things!! A few snapshots of my loves enjoying the fair :-)

Weekend rewind

We had a busy fall weekend:-). Friday night was our neighborhood Halloween party, good times had by all!  We went as a foursome with our besties. We may have to get more creative next year though! Lots of fun costumes.  Saturday was pumpkin patch day. We have the best local farm that does an amazing job catering to the kids! There are two huge playgrounds with super awesome slides. Hay rides, corn cob toss, rubber duck races, a huge corn maze and of course an amazing pumpkin  patch! Real life. Pictures in the patch weren't happening.  The slide!  Got a few good ones here:-) It was a gorgeous day, although HOT! We came home and took naps before heading to a friends for dinner. Collins got two nights in a row of playing with friends! Girl was in heaven! Sunday called for church, lunch and shopping for the girls.  Why do weekends have to fly?! Xoxo

Weekend rewind

We had such a fun fall weekend in the mountains. We arrived around 8 Friday and got the party started! And by party, I mean feeding 6 kids and getting them ready for bed;-). (We let them play for a little bit too!)   Our house was so nice, and perfect for four families. After all the kiddos finally hit the hay, it was time for cards, lots of laughter and football, of course.  The guys played golf Saturday morning, so the mamas took the kids to a fall festival in a nearby town. It was packed! I'm pretty sure everyone in western NC was there, ha! So, it was a little, scratch that, a lot chaotic... But the kids had fun! We walked around for a bit, ate lunch and got the big kids' faces painted.  We met up with the guys around 3 and did a trade off. They took the kids back to the house and the mamas got to hang out by ourselves at a restaurant and have girl time while watching our gamecocks! We did an easy crock pot dinner Saturday night... The kids had a ball, of course there...

The Friday five

1. I purchased these precious little Sperry canvas shoes for the boys last week. Five wears later and they look like this. UGH. I remember Collins' shoes doing this at this age but not near as fast or bad, but I guess because hers were leather. So frustrating! I guess I need to find some with a huge rubber toe piece. We now have $60 in "play" shoes. Urrrgghhhh. 2. In case anyone is in the market for some new nail polish, I recently tried the Essie gel setter and am obsessed. I'm not someone who keeps their nails painted regularly, but this stuff stayed a lot longer than normal and definitely had a more "gel" like appearance.  3. I never mentioned Graham had to have a little surgery the other day. He didn't heal properly after his circ, and they had to correct some "skin bridges" on his p. (I don't want to type the word for fear of this post coming up if someone is typing it for naughty reasons!). He did great! I know it was a minor procedur...

Fall shopping

It's that time of year, time to stock up on some new wardrobe necessities. I don't spend a ton of money on clothes for myself anymore... Who can afford to when you have three kids to dress?!;-).  I've slowly been buying a few new fun pieces for fall. I also try to buy double duty for most of my clothes. It just doesn't make sense to spend a ton of money on clothes I can't wear to work too. Most of these fit the bill for work and play. I've also bought a few fun comfy cardigans, my first blanket scarf(!), and a super cute black and cream gingham vest. Next up, I need to focus on shoes. I swear it's never ending! Vince camuto Loft, bought this pretty blouse in two colors  Instagram store  Karen Kane (see also I've turned into my mom!) but, I thought this was cute! Sophie Max. Love this jacket I scored at 50% off! Another Sophie max find. Love a good white blouse.  I should really post my kids' fall wardrobes, they get better stuff than me!

Weekend(s) rewind.

All the flooding had me out of whack all last week, it was a long, hard week, y’all.  Even though I personally wasn’t impacted, it is still heart wrenching to watch the devastation that occurred to neighbors, friends, and our state.  Praying that rebuilding can begin and for the families and business owners to start fresh.   Since I treat this blog as my personal scrapbook, I wanted to go back and document two weekends ago as well as this past weekend.  This is the only place I have that I note everything our family does and I know I will appreciate it one day…even if it makes for boring reading;) Friday October 2 was DATE night. We planned a big night out for my birthday and it was AMAZING.  We picked the kids up right at 5 that afternoon so we could spend a few hours with them before we headed downtown.  We took them to the mall for a little shopping, Chick a lay lay (as Colls says) and rides on the carousel! They loved it.  It was the boys’ first ti...
