Let's see how I did and how I want to do....

So...it's that time...time to make yearly goals.  As I have stated here, I am not one for "resolutions" but I do like to set some goals for myself.

Before we begin with new goals, let's see how I did last year...mmmmkay?   See my full post here:

1. Well, let's see...we actually DID meet our goal of buying a new house in 2012...and WAY SOONER than I EVER would have thought.  Financially, selling our house and buying a new one proved to be quite a good move for us.  DONE.  I'm not sure I did so good in the whole saving money part for myself, but as a family...by selling our house we made a good financial decision.

2.  Eating out less, eating fresher.  Yeah...not so much.  On a whole, I do eat much fresher and way less processed foods than I ever have in my life.  But, we still eat out WAY too much.

3. Baby weight?  CHECK. Plus some?  NOT CHECK.

4. Drink more water: so so...some days I'm really good at it and others I'll forget all day.

5. Church: I'm happy to report we nailed this one.  We joined a church downtown back in January 2012 and attended pretty frequently until we MOVED.  Now, we have joined a new church and absolutely LOVE it and attend quite frequently.

Just keepin' myself honest here...I've got some work to do;-)

So, what's 2013 got in store for this gal??

1. Give back more.  Whether it be thru church, volunteer opportunities, etc. I want to give back to the community more.

2. Get involved in church.  Not JUST attend.  We LOVE our service, but I do truly feel you get the most connection out of being involved in sunday school or small group.  I'd love to find a SS class we like and one C can go to, some of my best memories from when I was little are from sunday school.

3. Lose TWENTY pounds before I get pregnant again.  YIKES.  I need to do this, for real.  I'm not even going to get into how, why, etc. ...as I've babbled on about my weight loss issues/lack of motivation/discipline WAY too frequently on the ole' blog, but let's just say I do NOT want to get pregnant again until I am back to my happy weight.  On that note, no worries, we don't have a specific timetable for reproducing another Glenn babe just yet...it may be in 2013, it may not...you will just have to wait and see!  *God willing that is.

4. Finish furnishing/styling/decorating the master bedroom and bath, den, and screened in porch.

5. Run a 5k.  Don't laugh.  I am NOT a runner.  Like, can't even get my lazy butt to run a mile.  I HATE to run.  HATE it.  But, dang it I am determined to not be the only person in America (or so it seems) who has never run a 5k.  St. Patty's Day ...it's on.  Eeek...two months to get ready.  Can I do it?!?

2019 family Village Creek trip

Our 2019 summer family vacation was everything I could have asked for, and more!  This year, my parents and nephew joined us for the week so we had extra fun!  (and extra chaos of course, too!)  We did ALL the things, but yet also did ALL the relaxing.  We arrived on G and T's actual, bday so we started our trip with a special birthday lunch in downtown Beaufort with just the boys since Collins rode down with my mom.  We also finally experienced the drive in movie that night for Toy Story 4 and it was AWESOME!  We only had one day of cloudy weather so that was awesome!  We ventured to Bohicket Marina, Harbor Town, Harbor Island, Edisto Island, Botany Bay, our favorite sandbar AND downtown Beaufort by boat, we had a ball!   My dad got some AMAZING fireworks and we had a little show for the culdesac, so much fun!!  Mikey and I even got to sneak out one night for a date night, headed to our fav, Sal

My Pinterest inspired master bedroom makeover part one.

The BEFORE pictures. I've been itching to re-do my master bedroom for quite some time now. I am one of those people that likes to re decorate quite often...unfortunately for my bank account. Mikey's mom bought him a full queen sized bedroom suite when he graduated college, which was wonderful. It is very nice furniture and has served us well. But, I am SOOO sick of all the dark matchy-matchy look it brings. I will use this furniture again in a guest bedroom one day...but for now, it's time to retire it from my master. All of my bedding and rug I had previously...I've now had this zebra/brown/green theme for almost 4 years...so over it! Fortunately for us...my brother and SIL got a new bed...so what do we get?? Their old KING size bed!! Woohoo. I do NOT like for people to touch me when I sleep, I need my space...I've been wanting a king for so long. Even though our room isn't the biggest the king is working out okay...we aren't going to be in this h

These are the days.

Goodness gracious, I LOVE summer.  I talk it to death every year, but it is especially important to me during this season of life where the school year brings homework/schedules/strict bed times/extra curricular craziness- I appreciate the LAZY days of summer EVEN MORE. I've tried to be intentional about taking a half day here and there to soak up TIME with my babies.  Because Lord knows, they aren't babies for long.  (Yes, I'm referring to my 7 and 5 year olds as babies- #cantstopwontstop ) When we returned from our anniversary trip, we got back early on a Tuesday and used the rest of the day to spend quality family time together.  We took the kids to a local water park, this was all of our first time visiting- and we had a ball!   That same week, my girl and I dressed up and attended her very first company banquet for dance, too much fun!  Lake days with friends are sooooo good for me- we've so enjoyed many of them this summer
