Weekend rewind

I have no voice- that’s always a sign of a good weekend, right?! In all seriousness, I left work early Friday and headed to Charleston with two of my very best friends from college- neither lives here so it was such a treat to have two hours of uninterrupted car time with them. We had a rescheduled “ZTA girls weekend” that was cancelled bc of the hurricane- I already had a previous engagement Saturday though so I was only able to join for one night. Regardless, any time with these girls is fun and fills my heart with so much gratitude. We had big plans to do a fancy dinner out- but we were all having such a good time just hanging out around the house talking and laughing, no one wanted to stop to get ready. Which means I have zero pictures of all of us together, but we sure had fun.  I headed back home Saturday afternoon to see the babies for a bit before getting ready to head to a party with some friends- we ended up going out to dinner after the party and stayed up talking until 1!

Another weekend, another blog post.... errrrr, or picture dump. Whichever.  Don’t they totally look asleep?! ;-) We got fancy Friday night and attended the Heart Ball- it was a super fun night out  Saturday was full of errands and house chores- my girl loves to help! Collins danced in her very first halftime performance Saturday at a basketball game. I have such fond, vivid memories of doing this when I was little. She had a blast! And then we had family date night- the restaurant had a fabulous Kids room with games - the boys are going thru such a good smiling phase... #notquite Happy Wednesday!

Weekend rewind

Monday - Monday.   We spent our weekend in major “get shit done” mode- we still have 879 million little projects to do around the house along with several big, expensive projects. The expensive ones are not an option right now, but it’s time to get back to doing some random, little things.  I feel like once I get in mode and actually start doing things around the house I wanna get ALL the things done ASAP. Where’d that winning lotto ticket again?! We are slowly starting a mini overhaul of our hall/main bathroom. It’s the guest bathroom but it isn’t just a half bath- it includes the only bathtub in the house. We are leaving the tub in place- it’s not the prettiest, but it does the job and my shower curtain covers it up :-). We will eventually replace floor tile, vanity, lighting, hardware, etc. and get a proper coat of paint on the walls. We ripped out an old (awful) medicine cabinet mirror and started patching holes in order to paint and install a new mirror. One thing at a time. My mo

Our New Year’s Eve weekend

One day I’ll get caught up around here- but today is not the day. We ended 2017 in Brevard, NC with a few friends .... celebrating a new year and an engagement for one of my besties!  We had a blast- didn’t leave the house but once to venture to the Sierra Nevada brewery- but instead hung out - talked, laughed, ate, and watched football! It was perfect. It was also freezing and although there was no snow - the kids loved playing in the ice.  We went to Asheville for lunch on the way up and enjoued several hours at a very kid friendly pizza restaurant/ brewery. The rest of our meals were cooked at the cabin. It’s so nice not having an itinerary on vacation.  I’m ready to go back in the fall or spring so we can enjoy some outdoor activities! Here’s to an amazing 2018- eleven days in;-)

The final Christmas catch up!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day- two of the most magical days of the year! We attended church on Christmas Eve (most favorite service ever) and headed to my parents to have Christmas with my moms side of the family. The kids were spoiled and we really enjoyed just being together.  We got home and put our cookies out and went straight to bed! Waiting to see if Santa came.... He did! My parents came over for breakfast and then we enjoyed a lazy day playing with all the new toys. We headed over to Mikeys dads around 3:30 for the Glenn family celebration. Again- a good time just “being” with family- lots of cousin time :-) We truly had a magical Christmas season - happy birthday Jesus!
